Challenging What car thread
Discussion
I want a car for sitting around, taxed and ready to go, to be used on the occasion when everything else is out and busy.
Key for this is low purchase price, and low tax.
So, for £30 a year RFL, and about £400 max, what's the best buy.
Contenders as far as I see.
1.4 TDCI fiesta (Horrible injector leaking problems)
1.4 TDCI PSA. (Injectors as above, plus dodgy build quality)
1.5 Clio / Megane (Horrible injector failing issues)
1.2 Corsa / Astra CDTI (Oh no,must I).
1.2 Fiat. Panda would be great, but can't find one at £400
erm..... not much else.
1.4 D4D Yaris falls into the pot, but not at 400 quid.
What am I missing. Is there something out there that satisfy these requirements, is half decent to drive, and reliable? Ironically, I don't really care about fuel costs (will be minor anyway), and I'm happy to do a bit of work.....What's the PH collective suggest.

Still trying to find something half decent.
Missed a 2006 clio with EGR issues off gumtree for £100.
Also missed a 2005 206 for £220.
But still looking.
I know the absolute economics doesn't add up, but it's a bit of a laugh trying to find something so cheap, with virtually no tax, and something that will run well. That's why it's a challenging 'what car thread'

You might find something in here if you look long enough
