Hello,

I'm contemplating spending a bit of money on a car (for me)

The things I want are :

Petrol

Decent build quality

As much gadgets for money as possible ( more important than age )

Not huge mileage.

If possible hatchback although not a deal breaker.

Moderate amount of power but needs to do 35 or more to gallon.

As things stand I'm looking at

Volvo v40 t4 Its one of the first one but has loads of spec

Lexus is250 ( I know not a hatch but so reliable)

Audi A3 (you don't get much kit for your money) don't want the 1.4 engine.

Seat Leon (seemed a little boring inside after v40)

Sooo any ideas please.

Sorry my budget is 12000

£12k will get you a Suzuki Swift Sport that's almost new 3 or 5 door and 35 plus mpg.

I always look for something a touch on the "different" side, something that stands out from the usual hum drum.

How about something really different? Packed with lots of tech? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

or maybe one of these:

The tech side is the harder side to get, if you want build quality we all know you the cars you do and don't buy.

A juke is hardly 'different' or 'something that stands out from the usual hum drum' is it? There's more Jukes' on the road than potholes smile
