wrong forum, best to post in GeneralGassing and add details like, budget, what distances you will be driving, other likes/wants in a car etc. The more detail the more help you'll get.if your a new driver it will all hinge on the cost of insurance.
I would think slightly outside the box however, as this can often reduce insurance costs:
It will usually cost less to insure a Toyota Yaris, Dacia Sandero, Honda Jazz or Suzuki Swift than a Vauxhall Corsa just due to the demographics that usually own them - play around on a comparison site (add parent(s)) as named drivers to bring down the cost if they have a clean driving record too.
My favorites in the sector having driven loads as hire cars are the Fiesta and Jazz - presume you'll need the 1.25 (60ps) Fiesta or 1.0 petrol yaris to minimise insurance but try some other variants on the off chance they're not too pricey - may be worth it as they are gutless (but fine day to day). If you want smaller the Seat Mii/VW Up and Skoda CityGo are better than the Aygo/C1/108 IMO and the three models are all based on the same floorplan so no differences other than spec/badge.
