tt rs or porsche cayman 3.4s

hi all about to splash the cash looking at both cars .Not sure which one to go for, anyone got any opinions .My daughter has just blessed us with a baby girl and I am looking at the Audi thinking I can get her in the back if I need to .The wife has a car a well a little Fiat 500 so we are not stuck as such .Any thoughts would be gratefully received

The Audi's a nice car and I'm sure you'll like it. But the Porsche is a notch higher for 'special'. It's subtle, but that flat six purring and then roaring behind you is a fabulous thing. I had a 2004 Boxster S previously and I've just bought a 987 3.2S. It's 10 years old but I love it already.Heaveho said:
The Cayman only if it's the later none IMS model with the bores that don't score. The TTRS is a lovely thing though, not an easy decision. Arguably makes a nicer noise than the Porsche. The 5 pot has won engine of the year several times, iirc.

Was amazed the room needed for the seat, even in a Volvo.
He's right on the car choice too!!
Rear facing seats do take a huge amount of space so at best your Mrs would be right up against the dash with all of you in. That RS does have isofix points - you can see them, though many cars have isofix in the front too with a switchable airbag so you may still be able to take the kid.
Someone above said drive them both and get the one you like best. That has to be the right way to do it!

I think im seeing isofix brackets between the seat and back of the seats, cant imagine a 2012 car not having isofixAlso on that image (2012 model, I believe) it doesn't look to be isofix compatible.

And yes, kid-seats are HUGE, especially the rear facing ones will take up a lot of space, looking at that pic im guessing the only thing that will really fit is one of those booster seats they can sit in from around 3 years old, anything isofix with its own seperate belts/reclining mechanism is a no-go.
Id get the cayman by the way, a TTRS can be one hell of a weapon, but somehow a porsche just feels a tad more special to me then a (very fast) audi.
If you use an isofix base, it'll make things worse. I was quite smug about having the 5 series when we had our son, thinking any baby seat would fit. And I was quite surprised to find the baby seat touched the front seat backs without having it reclined further upright than expected.
So based on that, it won't fit in the TT, so why compromise. Go all out for the Porsche

Many car seats (such as mine) stipulate a gap such as 20cm from the front of the child seat to the rear of the front car seat, so even if it physically fits that gap might not be there, rendering the car seat not as safe for the child as it needs be

My mother has a child perfect Volvo XC70, but whenever she takes my daughter out she just takes my much smaller car as the child seat is setup in that and it avoids the issue of her swapping the seat from car to car. Shes offered to buy her own seat , but is not confident in setting it up for the once a fortnight its needed.
So that could be an option for you to borrow your daughters car if you need to drive your grandchild...although that means she will probably want to borrow your new car!
