Anyone owned one. Selling the MCS and want something with a smidge bigger boot. Never really looked at myself being a BMW owner but the 120i seems to fit the bill, 170bhp, 7.1 to 60 and I'm mpg. What's the 4pot like in the real world.
I also looked at the focus 1.6t, a remap would give it 180-200 but the car is huge and the fiesta ST is still around 10k
Vauxhall seem dead for anything fun around the 7k mark unless it's an old shape astra vxr the corsa nice but can't see me driving one.
Renault fat arse Megane, owned a Megane and it self destructed. Never again.
Not looked at the ds4 but the ds3 has the same engine as the mini and I will go wrong on me.
Looking at around 7k. I am unlucky with reliability so the 120d is out so is the ds3 and the mini is going.

Can't speak for the 120i but had a 118d for a year and loved it. On the back of us buying our 118d, my Uncle bought a 120d with the 8spd ZF and it's a fabulous car to drive. Great handling, practical and comfortable over long distances as well as just popping to the shops.
Ours was originally bought as a run around but we ended up driving down to the Pyrennes in it after just a couple of months of ownership and it was fab.
Wouldn't hesitate recommending the F20.

I've had one, basically it's not that much better in real world than the 116i (which my wife now has) and vastly inferior to the 125i to make it a bit of an odd choice.
I'd only get one if it was a bargain price.
Very similar to the old E46 325i in how it was just a pointless car between the 320i and the 330i. Seems BMW like to over complicate the line up.
