Personally, I find it very smooth and quiet on the motorway. There are plenty of the Active model, which is mid-range, on the market, up to 2 year old, for less than £8k. Hell, even the base model comes with cruise control. Economy-wise, I'm averaging 52mpg at the moment. Got my loan with the Halifax, who I bank with, at 3.9% APR
I have a Dacia Logan MCV (diesel Sandero estate) bought as an eco-box*.
Paid cash p/x for mine, but the Sandero Ambiance hatch version with either the turbo petrol TCe90 (£109 a month) or the excellent DCi90 diesel can be had on Dacia finance, five year warranty. £750 dealer contribution can be had, so one option is to take the finance to get the deals, then pay it off in full with a cheaper bank loan after three months.
Excellent long-legged motorway cruiser, 65 mpg, no VED at the moment on the diesels. Electric mirrors, BlueTooth, handsfree, MP3/USB CD radio. £ 140 annual service plan. Better residuals than Skoda, say AutoCar.
