I'm thinking about upgrading my Berlingo, it's a car I use for tip runs, dog walks, driving in winter (other car is a BMW 645) and taking into places I wouldn't be happy taking the BMW. Like busy car parks. It's also our only 4 door car so we use it for airport runs and stuff.

The berlingo fits most of my needs as a second car, but as it becomes my only car in winter and it looks like I'll be doing a bit more driving to places I don't want to take the BMW I'd like something a bit more comfortable.
Preferably 4x4 and about the same height so I can get my sister (she's got MS) and a wheelchair in easily. Big boot is important.

Looking at around the £3000ish area. Not hugely concerned with MPG, more reliability.

The Honda CRV seems to fit the bill, it's about as exciting as beige paint but they appear to be reliable and practical while still being OK for longer journeys.

I like the Mitsubishi Shogun but I think the repair costs and frequency would be an issue, I'd love a landcruiser but they're too expensive or knackered for the money.

Essentially I'd like something big and manly but the CRV ticks more boxes and I'm trying to sell the sensible option to myself!

Anything else I should be looking at for the money? Does much go wrong with the Honda? There doesn't seem to be much info about faults.

My dad had a CRV, close to 140000 miles on the clock when he sold it, zero issues.
If I hadn't got a practical car already I'd have bought it.
