Quick (ish) car to carry some golf bats and a pug?
Discussion
Evening everyone,
Everyones favourite kind of thread! I wish this one were somehow different or original, but it is not, so i apologise.
I currently have an Abarth 595, which I do love. However, its not the most practical machine when carrying certain items.
Having to the fold seats flat to carry golf clubs is growing tiresome, and putting the dog (a manly Pug) on the back seats is also a pain, as any fellow Pug owners will know: they malt ALOT.
So basically, I need something a little bigger, a boot where the dog can go, so not a saloon (I am not that cruel), and somewhere to carry my golf bats without having to fold the car in half.
Could probably spend up to about £12,000. No silly mileage, nothing with too big an engine (over 3.0) as I am still only 22.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'd say a Focus ST-3 should hit the spot & they're a great all rounder

Or if you want a more focused golf cart then the Megane RS is the one:

I've got an FN2 Civic Type R and I'm pretty certain that would fit both criteria, as well as being good fun to drive when the dogs aren't in the boot. My dogs (2no. A Border terrier and a Border / Lakeland cross) don't seem to mind it back there.
I'm not a golfist but I'm pretty certain a bag of clubs would fit. It also has a false floor, so you could fit other stuff beneath this if required.
They can be had pretty cheaply now which would make up for the likely increase in insurance. I still get comments from colleagues on how nice a car it is, so it gives the impression of being more expensive than it is, but it depends if you want to go for an older car than I'm assuming your current one is.
Failing that, a Seat Leon FR or Cupra would fit the bill.
