Best fast road/occasional track day car.

I've just got rid of my M135i and I am looking for something else. I couldn't quite bond with the BMW, it was a very capable car and did lots of things very well but didn't offer the raw driving experience I was after, guess I am looking for something less refined. Also looking at the odd track day so something not to heavy and that handles well. Budget up to 10k. Must have rear seats.

Thinking of an ep3 type R, cooper S works, clio 197/200 or if I can my preference would be to stretch to a megane 250 cup.

The only one of those I have actually driven is the type r though so looking for owners experiences or some other suggestions.

I'm thinking of the megane. They seem pretty rare and the problem is finding one close enough to have a drive in. Thinking of the 130i as well as an option, do enjoy the rear wheel drive in the BMW to be fair. Anyone tracked a 130i?

Re the megane they can be a minefield for electrical faults.

A neighbour had one and ended up getting refunded by the dealer as it was one problem after another, Clio's seem a far safer bet.
