Mazda 3 MPS or FN2 Civic Type R??
Discussion
As above. I have about £8k to spend on a second car for fun, road trips and the better half to use for shopping.
In terms of practicality for the above uses I think they're both about the same (except number of doors).
I don't want reliability issues so I've narrowed it down to these 2 even though the Japanese thing may be more of a myth these days.
So, which is more likely to cost money in repairs? Which is more fun? Which should I go for?

You could get yourself a nice Integra DC5 for that amount of money which is everything the FN2 is and more.
Yep its a better car all round.Mazda 3 would not be on my radar at all at that price range.
The mps is the best allround hot hatch at that price point , it can do the speed the handling and the comfort right out the box.

Errm seriously? I'm a chrysler fan but come on. Decent cars but can't imagine an mps potential owner would fancy one.Amg slk on budget. More fun than an mps maybe although i really do rate mps.

Or what about those hot Volvo c30s if it's a hatch you are set on.
