When we tested them - the back seats were better for adults in the Seat than the T-Roc - the nearer VW equivalent was the Tiguan at a lot more money...
Something to do with proportions between boot and back seats...
I thought it was the t-roc, Karoq and Areca that where the same built in the same factory in Czech?
Is there an Audi version of it?

not sure what the theoretical matches are but there are confusions:
VW do the t-roc the t-cross and the tiguan - which is the direct match - all are claimed to be similar, but in our view the Tiguan matches the Ateca:

The audi equivalent is the Q3

Although there's not a massive amount of differnence in dimensions, in real life Tiguan seems altogether bigger than Karoq and Ateca.

Tiguan and Q3 are a close match.

Tiguan's Skoda and SEAT equivalents are really the Kodiaq and Tarroco but they're both slightly longer - same as now defunct Tiguan Allspace. Speaking of where cars are built, weirdly Tiguan Allspace was built in Mexico (the US only takes that version of Tiguan), Kodiaq and Tarraco are built at VW Wolfsburg.

Karoq and Ateca are exactly the same size and are built at a Skoda factory.

T-Roc is a bit smaller. Audi equiv is Q2. There isn't a Skoda or SEAT equiv.

T-Cross matches Skoda Kamiq and SEAT Arona.

All the dealerships we visited compared Karoq / Ateca / Tiguan / Q3 - they all said that they were the models being compared by their customers - the others are all too small for the standard family car… and I would say they are right - whatever the theoretical matches - those were the comparators in real life

we also looked at the pug 2008, too small, the C3 aircross....designed by a blind man.....mokka, shokka and a wocka...too small......

Looked at maybe going a tad bigger to the Kodiaq and its equiv, but the extra size/weight etc wasnt worth it. The Karoq and Ateca seemed about right............for us.
