The thing I find annoying with vans is that the VW T5/T6 are not the best in any respect apart from maybe looks and camper conversion parts availability.

But as the scene tax keeps depreciation at a minimum, there is a strange situation where buying a worse product makes better financial sense.

What alternatives do you consider better? Not in any way suggesting that VW are the best just genuinely curious of opinion from others using vans as Facebook owners clubs undoubtedly have bias. I quite like the look of the Toyota Pro-Ace but also the new Transit looks good too.

I test drove both th VW and Merc Viano and found the VW engine much weaker, the suspension harsher but it was better packaged. The VW is just silly money now as is the MB V-Class. The Merc had a V6 at least as a USP, now its just a 4 pot commercial vehicle with carpets and seats like the rest of them. I envy the Americans for their minivans.

One option is the Maxus Mifa 9

Maxus do stand by their products from my experience and are one of the better Chinese brands

How do you find the driving, comfort, NVH levels and general build quality?
Picked the proace up today and drove it about 120 miles home, I actually think it was quieter and smoother than the Vito, the 8 speed auto is nicer than the 5 speed in the merc, the engine pulls well enough and according to the trip computer I averaged 44 mpg which is probably 10mpg more than the Vito would have got.
