Not good for the erosion of our spending power
Hopefully great news for used car prices, with PCPs coming to an end and an increase in supply.

It's an ongoing thing though. A friend fixed his 5yrs mortgage just before the rates shot up so he's still got a couple of years to go before he's hit with a big rise. In between this you'll have all the other households slowly coming off their fixed rates. Not good for the erosion of our spending power

Ad is from October 2023, and the price has dropped by more than £2K - I also find it amusing that so many companies still have Covid explanations ...
It was an additional setting within the Autotrader dealer portal that autofills the bottom of the advert along with another “about the dealership” that gives the standard info on the dealership. Knowing Autotrader it’s in an obscure menu so some have forgotten to remove it. If they're too lazy to keep on top of that sort of stuff then they'll be too lazy to keep on top of other little details.

Wbac £143k, car advertised at £190k
been dropped £35k over last 6 months, thinking of going in at 180?
Hard end of the market for them currently?
Scary car depreciation wise.Wbac £143k, car advertised at £190k

Leave it towards the end of the third quarter this year they will be desperate end Sept into Autumn. Assuming it doesn't sell of course.
As ever it depends how much you really want that particular car and risk level missing it if you wait for further price drops.

It doesn't make them lazy, some people are button pushers when it comes to computers, when things change they have no idea.If they're too lazy to keep on top of that sort of stuff then they'll be too lazy to keep on top of other little details.
Doesn't mean they can't be great at sourcing cars.

My view from doing the delivery rounds is the market remains in a steady state.
Everyone complains from large dealership chains to one man Indis but all seem to be getting enough footfall and sales to keep the lights on.
One thing I have noticed at a few main dealers, a chunk of cars randomly registered (24 plates) and just sat in storage areas not moving.
Larger Van prices seem to be softening, especially the larger full size transit size vans.
New Ford transit custom is selling well, mid size van market seems to be where the demand is strongest.
Still high demand for anything in decent condition under £5k. Some of the older stock at the small Indis is better prepared than the. 3 or 4 year old stock at the main dealers, some dont seem to put any effort in prepping the forecourt cars.

Been watching them and the Cielo for a while and the Cielo is getting hot even harder, i think the 150 -160 mark is the sweet spot, hopefully sept will see them both hit this mark, should do at their current rate of decline.
