Just to add, at 80mph the 330d is ticking over at 2000rpm, so not exactly stressed. There are plenty of (well maintained) examples well over 100k miles.

Currently on hols in France, officer, which is how I know this.
I think I am looking at the 330D M Sports Coupe now, due to the reliability and 6 cylinder - Any other owners of this?

Afre your recommendation I am quite keen on the 123d Coupes now. I am already looking around, but have you seen any decent models. I am budgeting around 2-3k but I would consider more for the right model, based in North East.
I don't think they sold too many because there were also 118 and 120ds. I just wanted the quickest one, although now I've discovered straight 6 petrols I wish I had bought a 130i instead!

Some of the facelift models with the N47 engine can suffer from cam-chain issues, so now they are getting older a 6 cylinder may be a better idea. But I bought mine at 3 months old when nobody knew that, I didn't need anything bigger and I preferred a hatch.

We chose a luxury over m sport...better decision if doing big miles.

Our 330d was bought at 3 Yr old with 74k. FSH was most important aspect. It stank of cigarettes hence the low price (uick 24hr with awful smelling chlorine bomb and the smell disappeared).

Car was faultless for another 30k with 2 oil changes.

Can only imagine the stink of that, not a great impression.

Slight pivot in tone here but, any idea about insurance quotes for these? I know it largely depends on area and other risk factors, but I am getting comp quotes for about £1800 fully comp, which is insane to me.

So, I have had my full motorcycle license since 2013, with 10 years NCB on that, however, I have had my car category since 2019, with only maybe 1 full year of driving. Anyone know of any insurers that will accept the 10 years NCB on motorcycle? If I enter the 10 years it does return quotes of around £700 (based on 6k miles) but have no way of knowing if they will accept it. I don't think I could justify this card for nearly a grand on insurance for my needs.

As most my policy has gone up over the last couple of years. At best 2 years ago I was paying £300 per year fully comp, full no claims many years of driving but in what I imagine an expensive city postcode but now it's more like £450. A mate has an E91 325d estate, still the 3l, in a better area and I know he's paying sub £300 still.

Experiment on the different models to see how big a difference they make. I think the 325 is still 200ish bhp and a good amount of torque.
