Pretty sure the Ateca will have basic cruise, my wife's has it.
Depends on what spec Ateca you have doesnt it!

This is now about the Karoq advert.

Its NOT in the advert so why miss out something like that and then admit your ad isnt an accurate one!

This is the same dealership as the Ateca is..... Hendy. 2 ads, neither accurate.....why?

That one has. Go to Hendy car store Exeter, find your Ateca and scroll the pictures. One picture clearly shows the LHS stalk has cruise....

Look at the images you clown. It may well be an option but that car has it.

A picture speaks a thousand words. The advent probably doesn't state it has interior grab handles but it will have.

Go to the Hendy advert (not the eBay one) and scroll through the pictures. This car has cruise. I don't care if it's an option. It has it.

I'm done.

How you know you've lost the point, read the above. Cruise IS AN OPTION. Its NOT written as being fitted to the car. Pic could be of any car.
Get a grip.

SEAT doesn't really do options - they used to call it Easy Move ie: https://www.thejcbgroup.co.uk/seat/news/easy-move . Even metallic is no cost. The Ateca you linked to is a high spec one - the only thing I'd be wondering is if its got basic cruise or the fancy version.

Things change, so they may not be exaclty the same now, but I just had a quick look at SEAT Ateca configuator and the only thing toy can choose is engine and colour.

I would say just watch with a 21 car - probably built at the height of Covid shortages. Some cars had random features missing.
Interesting points. I am not going to drive all around the south of England looking at cars to see in person what these cars have fitted or havent. I am relying on their honesty in an advert, no matter what medium its in. Parkers guides are Ok as they show the different specs with whats included as basic standard and an option. Its a bit of a bugger when both cars are both by the same group and they both arent exactly fully disclosing what their cars have. To me, cruise control, whether the basic sort or adaptive is quite an extra.....I would have thought a bit more important in selling that say cup holders/....

The 21 car is at the top of my £££ range and high miles for a 3 yr old, BUT I only do 4000 miles a year so after a few years would avergae back out...ish.

I deleted my post as I didn't realise how old the Ateca is at 2017. I think Easy Move came in sometime in 2018 (ours is Sept 2018).

I still wouldn't take the advert specs, or Parkers as gospel - car specs can change a couple of times per year, sometimes with a fanfare and sometimes not. Ford has quarter model years, so you get 2018.25 etc cars.

Don't know if this link will work for you, but there's a May17 Brochure here: https://www.atecaforums.co.uk/attachments/seat-ate... Cruise is standard on the SE upwards. The car you're looking at may well have built before that though.

Why cant they just simply write what the car has? I emailed the sellers Hendys and asked what packs it had as there seemed to be a difference to what was written and what is in SEAT's manuals AND the actual wording. They cant even agree with that. Its not helpfull. Exeter is an hour from me. Maybe take a picnic!

When I bought mine I got the dealer to send me a print out of the fitted options which they can do from the VIN. I don't know what the system is called but if they are a VAG/Skoda dealer they can certainly do it - & maybe even if they aren't as long as they have access to the system.

Following this thread as its the sort of comparison ive always wanted answers on.

Out of the two motors here I think they are closer together, i've not heard about SEAT after sales tbh and never dealt with them.

Skoda always seems to be better for me but then they always seem to release new models so is the Karoq now EoL?

I have the Karoq’s bigger brother, the Kodiaq. If you go for one, I would advise against buying anything with a pan roof. My Kodiaq leaks through the roof and I’ve just spent over £600 having the drain tubes replaced.
I had blockages on my Passat R Line last winter.

It was cleared and helped if I removed the spider traps at the bottom.

Before I give the comparison from the drive today......I wish I had a big brother ....(other sized brothers are available) to bounce these figures on so he can slap me around a bit.

Over the last 3 years, we have done a combined 20k miles, so did some man maths and crunch comparisons between the Subaru mpg, tax etc and say a Karoq at 40 mpg, tax etc. We will be approx £1800 better off for 3 years worth of driving. BUT, it'll cost us say £7 or £8k in buying that newer car!
£7k trade in and £7/8k cash.

Subaru is 2013, 71k miles now. Does 30 mpg ish.....my driving A/B roads, yes it can get 40 on a motorway but we dont drive on them at all.
The replacement will be say a 2018/9/20 car with around 50k on the clock!!! Oh and another £650 for a towbar of course!

man maths says.................£8k (for the extra cost of the car) taken out of savings = at 8% pa approx £640 a year...loss. X 3 years = £1920.
So that wipes out the savings in petrol and tax!

Am I doing this right. I failed maths o level!!!

Test comparison.
2020 Karoq se and 2021 Ateca xperience.

Very very similar. Found no difference in the ride. Most reviews say the skoda is softer than the Seat. Didnt feel it at all. Acceleration same, braking was a bit harsh and quick. Seat height, vis both vg. The small rear view mirror was pathetic on both. Skoda had bigger wing mirrors. Interiors all down to spec so cant compare really. Seats sat nav was better, more modern and "felt" easier and more upmarket. Engine/gearbox etc are all same.

So for us it comes down to spec really. Leather, OK my Subaru has full leather, its a bit bang crash on bumps....but quiet and with that power, it shifts, but both cars did even in eco mode. So Alcantara would be OK, cloth seats, meh.

And basically that was it I guess.

Now its all down to the man maths....how much do we want a newer car...
Yes we can afford it
Will we miss £650 a year in lost income from that £8k in savings....probably not.

decisions decisions.

Skoda seem to have done quite a bit of twiddling with models which are just coming through now - they did make some tiny changes to Karoq but don't seem to be highlighting them.

Obviously it'll be EoL at some point, but I haven't read of any suggestion of that. Skoda do have a similar size EV coming, Elroq.

We got Karoq as my wife wanted something same size as her old mk1 Tiguan. The fact that all the controls etc are just the same is a useful bonus! She looked at new Tiguan and it terrified her!

What about the cost of servicing, MoT etc? For around £38 a month you can get 3 years of servicing, MoTs, full manufacturers warranty & RAC on the Skoda All-in plan, if your vehicle is eligable.
