Cool.
Selective quoting for the win too - very good.

I asked you a specific question and you gave me a simple exact answer which I quoted, I quoted the answer to the question which I asked you - I'm sure that is allowed or do we have to qoute all the stuff that is not relevant to what I asked?

Im glad you aknowledged some people with e-techs are having issues, that is all.

There are people having some issues yes, sadly it appears to be your ability to have a conversation - which you have confirmed, thankyou :-)

Wtf are you on about lol.

Wind yer neck in, I was responding to lots of people having issues with Megane e-tech cars. evidence of this all over the net - why don't you go tell them they are not having issues?
A few pages ago you made a clear statement about EVs needing charged every few days, I responded and since you declined to engage in further conversation I called you out on it.

That latest response makes me understand why you are here - thanks
seem to recall this poster.....MB.... making snide comments about me posting a couple of 1 liners etc.....without silly childish emojis I might add. Pot Kettle again!

Yup. This is generally how the majority of users who switch over the next decade will find it.

What causes the most concern is worry that the infrastructure and battery tech over that decade won't expand to enable those without home charging or anomalous use cases to switch.

Personally, I think the entire outlook in ten years time will look hugely different to today with a good spread of used EV ages and prices, less 'range' fear, newer EVs having substantially improved battery tech and thousands of car parks adapting to take advantage of the need of newer EV users to graze and refill while parked away from home.
Destination charging needs to become a thing.

Hotels should put chargers into car parks, not every space but if they have 50 spaces stick 10 in. Same for big car parks, the charge enough money so get some EV chargers added.

You can't expect to transition everyone to an EV and have them need to stop at motorway services to charge en route. there needs to be the ability to charge at destinations more.

They need to all accept card payment too, having 10x different apps which you have to sign up for, add your card details etc is just another barrier. The fast ones seem to accept card payments but the slower ones seem app based.

I saw that article about Megane e-techs earlier on my home page and surprise surprise it was the Daily Express who were behind the click bait. I don't own an EV and am not particularly pro or anti, but even I think these tory loving rags are getting a bit sad with their continual anti electric car posts. If its not the Express its the Mail or GB News looking for an angle.

Also over the weekend when I was out and about in Liverpool and Warrington couldn't help but notice the number of Uber drivers now using the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Kia Nero EVs. Is it slowly but surely starting to take over from the Prius/Auris/Corrolla hybrid models?

edit - if you remember I was calling you out for being one of those people who only join in with snarkey remarks and one who relishes joining in on a bashing.

Indeed but zero point in paying out to add chargers too far ahead of there being customers to spend money at them though.

Destination charger growth will just continue to front run the growth of consumers needing to pay for charging.

At the moment not really anyone needs this sort of service. There are only 1m EVs in the U.K. and almost every single one is just charged at home with only occasional need to charge elsewhere.

Businesses will simply add chargers as the competitive advantage of doing so and the monetisation to get back the investment appears.

What we can see is that for the next decade it's really only going to be people with home charging and car usage that completely favours home charging that are going to switch so the growth in destination charging will maintain a slow pace and only pick up later in the cycle.

People will just have to wait and be patient which seeing as many are saying they don't want an EV this, one would think, would make them happy. smile

Care to explain why? I mean, all this indicates are people are understand that a low % number means they should charge up soon. Just like that yellow light in an ICE vehicle. So it were either idiots driving until they reach 0% or people risking it.

Got a Toyota hybrid while the MG4 is being repaired.

Costing roughly 7 to 8x more per mile for at best a third of the performance.

And when you actually do put your foot down quite aside from not much happening the CVT box makes it sound like you're slipping the clutch at 6500rpm.

Sat there hoping no one can hear it because it sounds so embarrassing just leaving a set of traffic lights.

There is not really anything for me to explain if you read the article fully.

It mentioned how each year less and less callouts are due running out of charge, meaning the network is getting better/people more educated etc.

Just the way that modern media works sadly. If your target demographic wants to read anti-EV stuff, that's what you'll serve them to keep them clicking away.

Those consuming their media at the dumb end don't care what's true, they just want prejudiced reinforced.

CVT boxes are awful best of times, I did try the Toyota hybrid but came conclusion its either EV or ICE and the two shouldn't mix.

I had no idea about the problems owners were having with Megane EVs until I read about it in this thread, after googling it there seemed to be lots of cases over many different websites so not click bait or anything like it - just lots of owners expressing their frustrations and real world experiences.
