Yes, that was the Peter Saywell Zonda. on it's way to Goodwood for one of his charity trackdays. he didn't look too bothered about it at goodwood, he was happily lapping his 918 in the wet and windy conditions. Not sure if he was driving the zonda when it crashed, although apparently it's one of the cars he drives most often. he brought the following from his collection along with the zonda that didn't arrive: Ferrari TDF, La Ferrari, McLaren 720s, Aventador SV, a 911 GT3 RS and a AM of some type, a v12 vantage I think. he has AOG plates on most of his cars - named after his business which does aircraft parts (AOG - Aircraft on the Ground meaning waiting for parts)

I don't understand why the newspaper report says police are appealing for witnesses etc. ? Seems a bit strange. Single vehicle accident, nobody hurt, these happen daily and generally go without investigation, don't they?
Supposedly travelling with another 'super sports car'. I presume they want to know if they were racing and if the other car was involved. It could have insurance implications. Craigwww said:

Based on the location of the incident and the weather conditions at the time, a simple case of rear wheel spin on a greasey wet road in windy weather exiting a roundabout.
Editted to add, Having checked the exact location, it could have been exiting the petrol station , or a car joining the a27 at that turning could have forced it over to lane 2 in poor road conditions. That may mean they are looking for another car, hence the call for witnesses.

As per the other thread the article on the BBC is poor reporting, lazy and incomplete. The convoy piece implies enthusiasts potentially racing, no mention that they were all his cars and on the way to a charity event supporting terminally ill children. The context of the reporting can imply so much by not reporting the full facts.

yup, typical bullst from the bbc.Based on the location of the incident and the weather conditions at the time, a simple case of rear wheel spin on a greasey wet road in windy weather exiting a roundabout.

it's really not that difficult to have a spin in these conditions without driving like a mad man

Not sure many folks would wanna buy a Cat S Zonda. They're already a nightmare in the wet, without knowing it's been pre-wrecked on a straight road. Having said that, RA sold his F1 easily enough, and that had seen more crashes than a demo derby.
This Zonda has already been crashed before, it was white before the crash and then upgraded and painted blue. I am told it is pretty hard to make them beyond repair. They are worth enough to justify some serious replacement of main parts at the factory. The GJ one has been crashed twice now, although not sure what its current state is. I saw it after the first repair and it looked pretty good but who is to say how it drives. Not many original examples left these days either as many have been adjusted with post build factory mods.

This Zonda has already been crashed before, it was white before the crash and then upgraded and painted blue. Secondly the car was never in a accident previously when it was White. The car that was originally White, simply went back to Pagani to be upgraded to the 760, more carbon, fin and wing etc, along with engine upgrade and re-paint.
