So no one here has seen a review or know any one who has ordered one.

The reason I ask is that its seems to have gone unoticed top gear have not reviewed it and neither have any mags so Im guessing horacio has not released a press car.

Are you referring to the Pagani Huayra?

If so Harry Metcalfe from Evo has a video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRBCbMy_Tw0

Also Jaykaybi has a video about it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm1H9D8Ephg&fea...

I also seem to remember there being a thread about it a few months ago.

No one outside of the factory has driven a Pagani Huayra yet and no tests have been conducted by the media. According to my information the factory is currently hold just over 50 orders but as yet no customer cars have been delivered. I would expect the first reviews to appear towards the middle of this year, and don’t be surprised if the first appears in EVO magazine, with first customer deliveries in the 4th quarter.

Prototypes are still being tested with the factory still trying to sort out the airbag issue that currently prevents the car from being homologated in the USA

That video is crazy. Very animalistic sounds.

Strong sources suggest that isn't true, sadly the one that has will not be seen on the road.

That's probably why it's been delieverd already then if it's never going to be driven on the road....sounds like a pretty expensive ornament.

Harry M was having a whinge in a recent EVO mag about the delays on Supercars; seeimgly they're showing 'completed' cars at motorshows etc. but they're not actually ready to drive on the road, for what in this instance is turning out to be years! McLaren were pretty much the same the MP4-12C was being driven about undisguised for at least 18 months before anyone got to drive it.

My sources concur with Streetrod on this.

Personally, I'd be very surprised if any cars have been delivered when no journalists (especially Harry) have even had a drive.

I have had the fortune to have a passenger ride with HP at the wheel and it is very, very special.

Hmm well I cannot be sure of course but I've been informed that a certain collector in Hong Kong paid over the odds to have number 1, and I believe (from someone at the factory) that said car has already gone there.

In this day though this kind of information just gets fed around intentionally even if it isn't true so who knows.

A silver RHD car was under construction but I was under the impression it had not been delivered yet. We may be talking about the same car as I understand this car will be heading to Hong Kong at some point.

But as I said before the cars are still being tested across Europe

Sounds very likely to be the same car, I can't say at all for sure that I believe it to already have gone but I'd have thought it must have? Did they not say back in Oct/Nov that the first car would be delivered in January?

Don't know much about Cars UK, so I can't really judge if this is reliable or not. Either way, this doesn't sound good.

No, not good at all. Amusing timing for the article to appear.

There has been a lot of cheap talk flying around for a few months now and to be honest I dont know what to believe. I assume about 50% of it to be true. I do know that Pagani where trying to get thjeir cars into the USA under the same legislation that koenigsegg had used but for somr reson they were refused. This required them to invest I think it was about 5 million to upgrade to the required airbag system that all cars in the USA have to pass. I was told that this would delay any US deliveries untill early 2013.

I would suspect Pagani's biggest issue now is cash flow. With no new Zonda's being produced and only the odd R now and the then, then only real income is going to come from servicing and upgrades. They need to too start deliveries of the new car soon.

The current factory could produce the new car but it would be slow as they dont have the space to produce a number at a time. If he has the investment available to get the new factory up and running then that would be the best bet if somewhat expensive.

The artical mentioned that he would not return deposits, if that was the case how could he withold that money regally??

It's hard to know what is real here and what is speculation. Like you, I assume some of it must be, if anything, it will be exaggerated as opposed to plain made up. There clearly is problem though: Harry wrote a few months ago in EVO that he had been put off the test drive he was promised 3 times and still no update on that.

I had the same thought about cash flow that you had. So they have 40 -50 deposits which if they are mostly at the €300K level, then they have a substantial pile to get the the car to market. The problem is, its finite. With the extensive delays and the bad press, they are unlikely to get many more until they have delivered the first cars so they have to start delivering cars, collecting further payments from customers and get their reputation back on track.

As far as deposits being returned, I'm sure he is allowed to do it regally wink but not legally. If they have incurred no direct costs on the customer's actual car (parts. labour) then they would have to refund the deposit. I don't know anything bout Italian law, but that's the way it works here, irregardless of whether the dealer writes non-refundable all over the order form or not.

It is interesting to watch how pagani fare now there is so much pressure for them to perform. 10 years ago, the expectation was zero and the result was sublime. Now the expectation could scarcely be higher; people are waiting for the best car in the world, it has a lot to live up to. I think we need to see actual customer cars before the summer or this will hurt their reputation for a long time.
