the LMES is a 4-round series consisting of 1000km races at Monza, Silverstone, Nurburgring and Spa
its designed for european teams to run in a long distance format without competing over in america in the ALMS (costly) which also only runs 500km races and stops teams just turning out once a year at Le Mans, indeed you're more likely to get a LM spot if you compete in the LMES
the series is designed for just the four rounds so it can remain relatively cost effective but by having longer races you get your money's worth... plus you can sandwich a pay driver (to help funds) between 2 proffessionals in a 5.5 hour race and still pull off a win...
it also doesn't clash with many other sportscar races so you can run cars/drivers in the ALMS/FIA GT/LMES and even some British/French/Spanish GT and Belcar series so you can get more out of your year...
it runs the "LM" name for marketing and uses the same rules... basically it picks up where the failed ELMS series left off in 2001... this time with better organisation and events!
