I know most of you will be living on beer for the whole week. But does anyone have any secret Le Mans Recepies they are planning to whip up on the Barbeee??? Hoping to find a whole pig for the medievil hog roast this year. Complete with pomme (apple) for its mouth. Electric Spit should come in handy. Any more unusual suggestions????

You've got to try the Merguez (sp?) sausages. More of an experience than a culinary delight. And it's best to be p****d before you eat them!

Over recent years we have eaten a lot of Tuna on the Barbee, you can get some lovely tuna steaks uo at the supermarket.

One classic story from my frist LM some 11 years ago. The site next to ours had a group of about 10 lads, one guy started to cook a bolognese with spaghetti on his Barbee. In true Floyd stylee he was consuming vast quantities of red wine whilst cooking. Once it was finished he lifted the pot to present to assembled around their table. Obviously the pot being hot and him being half cut he virtually threw at the rest of them...... He was probably cooking for around 3 hours in total... He then proceeded to try and scrape it up off the floor.... very funny

Tried a whole Salmon a couple of years ago. Shame the BBQ was half the size of the fish. Wrapped it in foil with some white wine and challots and a sprig of dill. Very nice

Serious note:
Last year I was expecting to buy disposable BBQs near the circuit, but they just weren't available. Had to buy an expensive 'proper' one that didn't cook the food very well.

For this year I've just bought a decent £9.99 BBQ which is really small until assembled. At that price I won't have to worry about cleaning and packing it up for the return trip - the pikeys can have it.

We built our own last year out of a baking tray (filled with charcoal) and a metal fish basket so that none of the food could fall off. It was brilliant and so cheap that we left all the bits behind. The food tasted excellent, nothing like a bbq and deafening noise to keep you going.
