Anyone know if NOS can be taken on the train? I know L.P.G. is a no no, but not sure about the "Gas",I can,t be bothered to remove it from the car unless I have to,plus it may come in handy for getting past any campervans or hatefull caravans!

Rather than take out the bottle, why not just remove the No2 stickers and no-one will know! M.

I'm not sure, but i dont think NOS would be allowed through the chunnel.

why not disconnect the bottle, and get someone who is going on the ferry to take it across for you?

Hey Guys don't worry about it.

They must have hundreds of camping vans going through with all sorts of compressed gas cannisters on.

In the event of a fire Nitrous is not a danger in itself. In fact I guess it could be an effective extinguisher if directed at a small fire as could blow it out. The gas is helpful in a car engine as it mixes with the petrol (the real fuel) to give a more dense charge.

The only danger the bottle could be is in extreme fire and heat, in which it could let go. Chances are when that baby went off no body with in its damage area would be alive anyway!

Just my tuppence as will be taking my 10 pound bottle over in my Cobra.

Race any one???

Hi All,

Just booked my Eurotunel tickets and there was a mention on compressed gasses.

The form clearly states no LPG or CNG TANKS
however bottles with turn off valves are ok.

In addition there was no mention of Nitrous.

I think the stories of searches are possible, though I wont be publicising the fact when I'm sat there in the queue.

Thanks DustyC, it was me asking the same question back in 2003 but in the end the NOS never happened, this time we may send it over with friends who are going on Tuesday on the ferry, as we run a 2 stage kit using L.P.G.and NOS at the same time so even if we can take the NOS well have a problem with the tank of LPG.But many thanks to those who took the time to reply on this thread, see u there!!!

[Hijack]

My Jeep is converted to LPG, but the preformance has decreased noticably. How did you manage to get LPG to increase preformance with your Viper? Is it because it's mixed with the NoS?

If it is, I'm straight down the NoS shop tomorrow

Anywhere I can get more information.

The L.P.G/N.O.S kit fitted to our car adds around 200 bhp at the rear wheels, but is a special kit from the USA designed for the Viper engine,LPG has a v.high octaine rating about the same as race fuel so your LPG Jeep should perform better than on fuel, many people I speak to with a LPG conversion find they run better on the stuff. The work was done at Power Engineering and I guess you could run with NOS,but we only use the LPG as an extra fuel when running NOS.The engine runs Optimax Fuel then LPG injects with NOS (then Viper has a dry inlet manifold so injecting a gas like LPG is safer than fuel)to give it the extra kick.Would love to run it on France,s long straight road to see what speeds we can pull but sadly it looks like we may end up at Le Mans without it.

So lets get this right, your engine runs on petrol, then you add a shot of LPG, then a shot of NoS, right?

Bloody hell! It must be a good piece of kit to manage that lot and stop your engine going pop.

I'll be getting the Jeep tuned up, hope that'll help.

Yep!,its a fantastic kit!,but the Viper does have a large 8000cc V10 engine running "just"560bhp without NOS/LPG,so it can handle the "extra" without braking sweat.(LeMans Vipers produce 850bhp without air intake restrictors or NOS !).Its easyer to add LPG as the extra fuel for the NOS than run a new fuel supply and fuel pump and inject directly into the engine alongside the standard fuel injectors, its a simple way to get heaps more power just when u want it and without needing to build engine revs.(Computer chips cut it in and out at my own presets e.g.3200rpm to 5400rpm).But u could do this conversion to most engines that are strong to start with...like a Jeep!
