Thought I'd start a thread with regard to details of the Mid-Essex convoy to Le Mans testing this weekend.

TDF (Tony) what are the plans for meeting up and where???

Gonna be fun

Alan - YHM

Just sent out a couple of emails on this subject. Suggest we meet at Thurrock services for 6.30 to leave at 6.45 am - we have to be there at 8.30 for the 9.30 ferry.

Weather is looking good

Guys as well as checking out the mundane stuff like location of Shell stations, can you also test out the French polices attitude towards 'making progress'.

Your success will be judged on the amount of fines you accrue and/or the amount of time you spend in jail.

Bon voyage mon braves !

Stu, of course we/i will and just to ensure that all eventualities are covered and for your peace of mind. I'm spending all of next week driving through France testing there different tolerances. I'll be testing Restaurants, Drink, Food, Drink, Roads, speed and some more drink. I'm sure some progress will also be made at some stage!!

At LeMans i'll also test Deb's (BigM) on how long it take her to cook breakfast for 20

Well TdF you know my favourite dinner is Lambs Hearts so I recon I will be doing kidneys for breakfast and rabbit for lunch. Should be easy to catch rabbits at Le Mans as they are probably all deaf.

We got back yesterday at about 23:30 after a great weekend at Le Mans and 2 lovely days in a small hamlet just outside Aubeterre in the Dordogne. We had a great drive back yesterday covering 767 miles in one day (madness), Julia was navigating and was brilliant and new it!!, so i took her through the centre of Paris which was entertaining to say the least, traffic seemed to open up and make way for the Chimaera or it might have been for her!.

We ended up having dinner in Le Touquet and just about made the 21:00 Ferry. Although we never encounted any speed traps the locals we spoke too pointed out that the police are collecting tax's in this manner!!!!! beware.

Roll on June..................................

Welcome back Tony,

We had an 'uneventful' trip back as you know and was home on the Monday by 8.45...not bad. Brill weekend and can't wait until June now...

We didn't see any police on the main route back but we didn't need to break the limits as were making good time anyway. I'm sure there will be some idiots which will give us all a bad name in June though...

Funny how when we all got back we 'all' experienced road rage, bad driving, pot holes (more like back holes on the M20)....how crap is the UK compared to France eh

Alan.

Tell me more. Just read a novel about the region and would love to stay there.
