Looking at the qualifying times and the race performance of the morgan in the privilage, will it qualify for the race at lm?
have all the cars invited got a firm place or is it invite the 60 cars or so and then let 40ish into the race at the aco's discretion?
cos it looks well off the tucan R pace at the mo... or is the car setup more for lm than places like donny?

There are only 48 pit buildings ( plus 2 for filming) available for the race. Therefore only 48 starters are allowed. A film crew are paying for the extra 2 pits for their cars. Which means the start grid for 2003 and beyond will be 50.
I believe 48 cars and 6 reserves are invited. Reserves are dropped by 31st May.
During practice the week before the race they may be minimum lap times the cars must reach if they are to line up for the race. Drivers must complete a minumum laps (especially at night) during practice otherwise the organisers 'could' block you.
I think this is slightly different from a few years ago. I seem to remember a burnt out car allowed another car to start on the day. The new rules are different.
There is a maximum qualifying time, a certain percantage over the pole time but I can't recall what.
The Morgan in question is the first of a new design, so I'd give them a few races to get upto speed. I read elsewhere that at this weekend's Donnington race they used a LM-spec gearbox (or testing reasons?) so didn't get out of 3rd. Plus the British GT races are 60 minute sprints, at LM things like reliablity and economic use of fuel and tyres are the key.
