I would like to avoid the last two times in which I went in a convoy of one so if there are any PHers that would like to come along I will be glad to hear from you.

Original plan is to leave Lisbon wednesday morning for the 1000 miles trip , but I'm open to sugestions. A probable route could be through Badajoz-Salamanca-Burgos-Irun-Bordeaux-Tours arriving thursday after lunch. Anyone for it?

PS: Mind you that the french police will be focused in the North trying to catch the speeding brits so we will have free roads to ourselves

BTW the invitation is extended to the way back also, although I would like to, time available, make a little detour through the Cote d'Azur.

I'll join you next year but this year I'll be going Poole/Caen. I'll be heading up from Marbella in the Noble next year. Martin.

PS - anyone got site addresses for Spanish trackday companies?

Hi Charles,

Indeed I passed through Vitoria every time , once I even stayed there in a hotel by the road. Will be delighted to join you there.

I will mail you closer to Le Mans to schedule things more exactly but leaving early morning thursday it's OK with me.

Seems you also went in the convoy-of-one in other years then

PS: You got a serious looking motor there.

I do a convoy-of-one every year, which is no fun. Actually it is still fun, but not as fun as in a group. I'll be meeting up with someone who is shipping over his '66 Shelby GT350 clone over from the US, but I don't know where he'll be coming from - Spain or the UK or...?

Excellent! We'll get in touch with each other as the date approaches. The drive from Vitoria to the French border is one of the great automotive experiences... No police, 4-lane, twisty roads through the beginning of the Pyrenees and light traffic... It's like having a private track...

Anyone else coming up from this direction???

Nuno -

No I don't

At least not yet... If I don't receive it in the next hour or so I'll let you know. Funny, we were just talking about you last night and I was planning to drop you a line to try to organize our monstrous convoy-of-two.... Hey! We're making progress! Convoys of two are better than convoys of one!

Strange, I received my copy instantly. Maybe Ted's buggering with the system
If it doesn't work send me a mail through my profile and I'll answer back.

It would appear that the problem is on my end... I sent myself a test message that hasn't come back yet either. It would appear that my company provided e-mail is on strike or something. I'll call our Support Desk and make sure they know about the problem...

edited to add that e-mails from 10pm last night are just now trickling in...

Raftom - YHM.

Any word on a TVR that lives in the Lisbon area that may be attending? I met a group of PH'ers who came to Spain in March, and one of them mentioned that they met a Portuguese who was possibly attending. Unfortunately I've now forgotten his user name, but his e-mail account wasn't working (I tried to send him an e-mail but apparently his address wasn't valid).

Never seen anything like it around here in Lisbon. AFAIK there was a guy in Porto with a Cerbie who posted around here sometimes. Is profile is www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?h=0&memberId=10802 (mail not valid so thats probably the one you mentioned).

I also cross posted a link to this thread in the TVR forum (in a thread about TVRs in Spain) and still had no takers...

Yup, that's him... In the meantime, I've been contacted off-line by someone who knows him who is trying to get in touch with him...

Who knows? We could be quite numerous????
