oh no, out of our original group of 6 (and 3 cars) 3 have pulled out, all claiming lack of finances as the reason (pah!), and the 4th may pull out too!!!

not only has this indecently pissed me off but i don't know what to do now...

i haven't discussed this with me bro yet (the only one other than me "confirmed") as he's too busy attacking the cat and fiddle in a Mondeo Diesel but this leaves as in the proverbial

anyone here got space for a Cavalier or MG in their group for us to tag along with? (planning to leave thursday from Dover about 9ish) and possibly at campsite... (yet to book this)

if not i may miss it... and i'm not sure about next year either... and i really want to go!

the upshot of the others missing Le Mans is they're planning a trip to the 'ring in about september time...

Go anyway.... even if there's only two of you, there'll be another 20,000 or more, to join up with. In the mid 90's our group dwindled to the point of it being just myself and 'C3 GTK'.... still managed to get p'ssed and have a good drive there and back.

Sorry to hear your predicament. Putting cashflow aside, if your mates are missing Le Mans due to finances, how are they going to cover the costs of going to the Ring? brake discs, pads, tyres, fuel and lap fees at £10 a shot?

Am back in Chester for tonight only, wanna MSN me..? Gotta be up indecently early for an unhindered run at the cat and fiddle back to site though! so not too late!

Anyway, we could still go to Le Mans, i have my eye on "Les Circuits des Ramparts" too.....

Let me know whats going on...!

We're travelling Newhaven - Dieppe first thing Thursday morning with a Griffith, Elise, Europa, Caterham, Alfa GTV & BMW and then travelling onto Houx Annex (see Crawley Brothers website for what to expect)so not inconceivable we could meet up en route.

sorry, didn't go back on line... too tired and not going to get much sleep over w/e so trying to get in last night...

basically, adam+jules are a deffo no, ian almost certainly no... doubt rob will go then either

i would still love to go, and would still enjoy it wouldn't be quite the same without a "group" even though ours is hardly large...

i mean, the way things are going it'll be a nice run in for either the Supercharger or XE (need to speak to you about that... and other things)

Ramparts seems good, again better if more than 1 car goes...

'Ring is not an option... we're going!!! especially by that time my car should be able to handle it... jules said they should have more money later in the year to afford a trip to ze fartherland...

anyway, when you got a spare minute give us a bell...

what speeds do you average down there? you have to remember both our cars are "classics" so not so good at sustained top speeds...

that said we managed a constant 90-100 from rouen to calais on the way back last year AND if we take the MG that should have a rebuilt supercharged engine, and the Cav may have a 2.0 16v with c.170bhp (and a 5th gear!) so should both be better at speedin.. sorry cruising!

trouble is, i think the Cav and Bananna would clash horribly!!!
