Got to thinking about this yesterday... We can tell who will be attending the Mulsanne Straight PH meet on Friday morning because there is an event in the calendar... If we desired, we could print a list of everyone who has indicated they will attend.

Is there someway we could develop a list of the PH'ers who will be camping in each site? That way we could look at the list and say "Oh, look, Joe Schmoe is staying in the same campsite as we are... I'll have to go look for him". As it currently stands, most people have said where they will be camping but you have to wade through dozens of posts to piece together a list if you were so inclined.

Suggestions? Start a new topic for each campsite and people post under their appropriate campsite, for example?

Or ask Ted to create a calendar entry for each campsite. The n when you add to your diary you can see who else has added the same campsite. At least I think that would work.

Thats a good idea!
Last year I took a print of the "When are you going and what are you taking" thread in order to meet as many PHers as possible.
It didnt work though but then I was rather inebriated!

If we include our pitch numbers when we get them, car details etc.

Then I'll know where to stagger too and introduce myself!!

Pitch numbers will only apply to the campsites with reserved pitches... Maison Blanche and Bleu (and others) are free-for-alls, so you can't know where you will be before you get there. (Or, in Dusty's case, you don't know where you are even after you've gotten there :-) )

Good plan,

Incidentally, does anyone know if there would be time to have a PH Le-Mans 2004 car sticker made up? That would ensure that we could identify each other.

Forgot we only get the oh-so British allocated pitches in a few sites...

Probably not a PH-Le Mans specific sticker, but I have it from a good source that PH stickers are in fact in stock... That would work!

Or we could fly PH flags at our sites...

Last year I went in my brothers Celica which we used up a few PistonFest stickers on to advertise it for Ted.
The PistonFest Stickers were a bit bigger than A4 and stood out really well.
Perhaps we should just use these instead.

They also stay stuck at 135MPH and in rain (probably faster too!).
The good bit is that they also peel off really easily which we discovered on the Saturday when someone came along and nicked half of them!

I think the campsites in the calendar is the best idea.
As for pitch number, not really necessary, its easier to spot cars than pitch numbers anyway.

I'll mention it to Ted.

BTW: its the 1988 Celica in my profile!
Looked better in the flesh since it had at least 3 PH stickers per side including top but excluding bottom!

Was just constructing the email to Ted then I realised it would be easier if we just put our campsite in the description for the Le Mans calendar entry.

By putting what car you are in it makes it easy enough to locate people.

HOWEVER. This is a public forum in a nasty world and it also will give nasty pikeys the chance to find out where your lovely beastie will be and when it will be alone.
Thinking about this again though the whole of Le Mans is covered in sports cars that wkend so it makes no difference if there is a directory of them or not!

SO.....
If we all makes sure we put our campsite in the description then we will be able to find how we are camping near. We could put our car and colour too to make it easier.

Just as a footnote.

If you're in Houx Annex look out for the flagpole that resembles a 50ft tree dragged from the nearby woods and there will be a number of PH-ers in the vacinity.

As a suggestion....

Why don't one or some of you budding Desktop Mac publishing types create an A4 poster, that can be places in our car windows......?

Details...

Pistonheader....
PH Name....
Made up name.....(ok the real name)
etc...etc...etc.

Bigger and better than Car stickers...We could download and print off from here..FREE

Over to you...

There wont be any windows you can put it on when driving! (in most TVRs anyway).

The stickers are ok for even TVR paint. They were fully endorsed by Ted who had them stuck on his own as well as his missus TVRs.

It wouldbe good to have PH names on cars too though.

I'm checking out the cost of customised stickers that you can have your name on.

Nice one Ted.
If you can then do some stickers with the usual PH logo/moto and our name AND some PF ones like last year.

(Because the PF ones have dates on).

The PF ones must have been popular too since someone stole ours at LM! (Although we found them stuck over all the neighbouring cars so perhaps there was a drunk individual at LM last year).
