Either we shell out for MRi tickets to get into the marquee once again, or we find somewhere else to watch the match.

Anyone got any advise on good places to watch the football while at le mans.

I am guessing the Big Screen in the Village will show it?? But would rather like a bar to go to.

Thanks

There wasn't a big screen in 2003.

In 2002, when there was a screen they showed the England v Denmark game.

Failing that, there is a sports bar in the Place de la Republique (opposite side to the main seating areas) with loads of TVs.

No, in the city centre.

Cool, we were thinking city centre also. Think that is worth a shot, especially if there is a good crowd down there. Be good to see lots of PHers then there would be lots of good cars to see as well as an England Victory over France (???)

Last time (2002), Radio LeMans did a fantastic job. Two guys watching the telly if I remember. Very, very good - didn't need a TV!

LOTUS 7 CLUB MARQUEE IN CAMPING BLEU

We have a big 75 sq ft screen inside a 3300sq ft marquee out of the rain!

We will be charging £10 to get in, but ALL PROFITS go to LEUKAEMIA RESEARCH as usual for the Clubs trip. (We've raised over £160,000 since 1990!, £15k at Le Mans)

Space will be limited as there are likley 230 odd people from the club who get priority over non members, but we normally can squeeze another 150 - 200 in!

Don't come before 7.15pm on Sat night as we won't let anyone in!

Heres a couple of pics of England v Denmark at the race in 2002 to give you a taste of the action. (This was a smaller 2100 sq ft marquee)

Hey Fat Arnie that sounds great, being the initiator of this thread is there any chance of pre booking 4 spaces??? This will allow us the comfort zone of knowing where to be and thus allowing us to enjoy the race, and be plenty stocked with Beers for our arrival. We are also in Bleu so would be ideal!!

Fat Arnie,

I'll definately have a couple of tickets if they're going. The game is Sunday, right?

'Fraid theres no option to pre-book. It'll be well posted around the area. You need to just get there at the time we will stick on the wall of the bogs in Camping Bleu. Get there too early and our security guards will escort you away....

Its unlikley we will be splitting the sides of the marquee anyway as the price of £10 puts many off.

As it gets full we put the price up too! There were two girls in 2002 who paid £75 they were that desperate. Its all for a very worthy cause though...and they sat on my lap right at the front!

One final note on the subject of beers - those clearly out of control won't be allowed in, and there will be a sensible limit in force so don't turn up with a 24 pack each!

We'll also be letting a token number of French people in just to give the place some local atmostphere! No violence in the unlikley event of them winning though.....

We are gonna have 3 Camper Vans on Site at Maison Blanche, (along with the plethora of exotic cars of course), and with that a number of TV's, so all are welcome to join our little gathering of 50 Le maners over a few beers while we (hopefully) beat the French.

Would suggest from there, the normal stroll followed by copious amounts of larger over in Arnage?
