I really fancied the idea of going to Le Mans this year, but reading the threads here it seems to be sold out already????

Do camping tickets become available nearer the time, or am I looking at next year now?

Don't give up - I only decided to go two weeks before the last one one and got camping tickets via a post in this forum the last minute Dover-Calais booking with P&O cost only £39 (incl 10 euro fuel voucher!).

There's also camping in the carparks etc. If you want to go, just go - it'll work out.

the official campsite are sold out, but that doesn't stop thousands of people... first year we went we booked april... second year febuary, we haven't booked yet this year but are not worried...

you have to look around, we go to clubmotorsport.org.uk which is expensive but worth it, especially if you have a nice motor...

if all else fails you can always kip in your car in a car park!

Like people have said, just keep your eyes peeled on the LM forums and there will be cheap tickets popping up more often as it draws closer to the date.

chim450 - myself and Psychobert booked on the Sunday and went on the Thursday last year. It can be done, just frantic chasing around doing it that way.

Don't forget, entry tickets and unreserved car parking can be bought on the gates, so if you just want to go for the weekend then no forward planning is needed.

Indeed, we searched long and hard for the ferry tickets. This is the priority and then you can sort out camping/race admission down there if you get really desperate, although your camping might not be so great or far from the track.

Thanks shnozz. I really want to go this year. I am not too bothered if the camping is basic, as I will most likely be mashed most of the time.

It would be nice to convoy with a few PHers on the way there though.

Try continental car tours, they have good prices and may have some spaces left.

Plenty of chance for that just see if there is anyone going the same time as you on the other thread ("what time and where from" or something like that).

We had 18 cars a and 2 bikes and a camper van last year. Great fun.

Keep me posted if you find some tickets and decent camping spots. I'd like to go but don't want to end up miles away from the track and wandering around aimlessly by myself (as opposed to wandering around aimlessly with a load of pissed up PHers which is perfectly acceptable )

You could always leave your car in the parking areas (don't know how safe they are considered though) and cadge a camping plot in one of the main camp sites, making use of the fine facilities.

Houx give you enough space per allocated plot for your car, around four small tents and table/chair/gazebo area for and .

We've got three cars in our group, so will probably park all three cars on the worst plot and camp on the other two, bigger parties (such as the large TVRCC regions) have massive camping areas because their cars are grouped together, I'm sure you can fit in somewhere..

As the sites are reserved per-car no one will be the wiser...

We'll probably have a spare car pass this year in Tertre Rouge, but we've still got to finalise who's going, what cars and kit we'll be taking etc..

There's a great deal of indecision amongst our group as everyone keeps bleating on about "June being a busy month"!
I should know, I'm getting married on the 20th! But I'm buggered if I'm missing Le Mans!

There's usually quite a few tickets for sale closer to the time, due to people over-estimating on the safe side when booking, which is due to the difficulty each year getting tickets, which in turn is due to the popularity of the event!

Keep an eye on this forum and something'll turn up.

June is a busy month...because its Le Mans month!

When I think of June I automatically think of Le Mans.
