Electric scooters and French law

I was talking with my Dad about buying a couple of electric scooters for le mans nexy year. They should be powerful enough for a 80 kg man plus beer

BUT

Does anyone know if it would be illegal to operate one whillst under the influence of alcohol? The last thing I want is to be done for drink driving whillst riding a scooter to the more remote parts of the circuit.
