It was mentioned in the walkie Talkie thread about Vodafone abolishing the roaming charges for the summer, so you can use your normal minutes / call costs.

I have just had a check on the website to see if you need to register for it and you need to be registered for PASSPORT.

If you aren't or need to check then you need to text PASSPORT to 2345 if you are on PAYG or PASSPORT to 97888 if you are on a contract.

Details here: Vodafone

Hope that is useful for someone.

Cheers for the heads up!

Thought I was on Passport, but it appears maybe not!

It seems that when you renew your contract you lose the previous settings like passport.

Incidentially is Passport itself free?

You can get a free sim direct from vodaphone , which is what I've done. Just check their website.

Further heads up! If you are on a business plan with Vodafone, you still pay a 65p connection charge to make a call but your minutes come out of your group allocation. Otherwise it's as personal price plans.
