Did anyone fill out any of those questionaires in the Village. Just opposite from the Racing Lizards stand. Nice young(ish) ladies chatting the lads up.
"Your chance to win a holiday for a simple questionaire"

Well yesterday I got the call...

"Congratulations Mr Tree, you've been the lucky winner of a all expenses paid trip for 4 to a selected European destination."

First thought is cool, brill I've one something. 5 Seconds later, hang on what's the catch?

" There is no catch sir, please phone this number to claim your prize"

More bells ringing !!

I Googled 0800 988 9901 and it's Club La Costa

Read on....

Lying in the sun or just lying in Lakeside?

Anyway i played along for a while and wrang the number. All sounded very legit, I asked about any timeshare blag and she said, Oh no, but you do have to attend a presentation (BIG BEN ... BONG!).
Then politely declined the offer and said it sounds to good to be true and the moto, is it normally is just that.
Then I asked her, don't you want to know why I don't want to carry on?
No , not really.... click (she hung me up)

Bloody crooks the lot of em !

doing the phone call while you are rolling a bum cigar, especially if you need a little vocal assistance, is your friend.

The Algarve used to be full of these shytehawks with their poxy scratch cards "oh my god, I don't believe it! you've only gone and won a camcorder"

"Yeah! feck off mate"

The easiest way to get them off our backs was to say we had already invested or wave winning scratch cards at them.

Club La Costa aren't that bad, my parents own with them both for the actual land based holidays, and the yacht club.

Persoanlly, I wouldn't buy in, but go for the free trip and just ignore the sales talk. The accommodation is pretty good - I recommend the Mihas place.

I did a similar thing with Marriot, freebee and not too pushy. Heard these guys are a 'little more persistant', stories of 6 hours and bouncers on the door etc.

I've heard someone else who is a member though, so guess it's how you play it and how you are in the pressure pot.

My parents did a similar thing with Marriott, and bought that too...

I've recommended timeshares anonymous, but seems they are beyond help.

Tell them you're retired or unemployed - they soon lose interest.
