Is there going to be a PH meet on Friday Morning this year?

Last year was disappointing...

Sorry if a thread on this has been started previously....

It's been mentioned but it's difficult to plan given we don't know which of the roads will be open. The section from Mulsanne to Arnage corners was closed last year which meant we couldn't do the Indianapolis corner meet. I saw a load of cars collecting on one of the mulsanne chicanes but they were moved on.

Just an idea but does PH have a WAP site? Pretty much all mobile phones can access these and they won't be too pricey to look at whilst at Le Mans.

The WAP site could be used to relay when and were we can meet on the day. Would only take a quick txt from someone at Le Mans back to PH HQ give them the details. PH tech people could then update the WAP site for PHers to check out whilst at Le Mans for updates. Could even use the site for various other updates of events/results etc. smile

What'd ya reckon?

Perhaps this needs a separate thread....

WAP? Does anyone use that any more??

Most phones have GPRS so you should be alble to view pretty much the whole site as 'normal' WE could definately set up a thread for a meeting point but someone would have to be in charge and make the decision.

I was mainly thinking of the cost of downloads whilst in France. A WAP site is normally very simple and just text, therefore a very small amount of data to download. Accessing the full PH site in France would cost a lot more, especially if on pay as you go. Also, the average phone screen is very small, so better suited to a WAP site.

I guess another option would be a simple txt subscription service. You sign up before you leave and when the meeting time and place has been decided, you get a txt informing you smile

Thats a much better idea! Surely PH could organise that fairly simply and cheaply?

it'd only need one person to find out about time and place of meet and then word of mouth with ensue for everyone else.

Theres the out of town type shopping centre between the Mulsanne chicanes which also has a McDonalds- if you can to it.

Of course having the meet in the (presumably) huge car park of the new shopping complex half way down the Mulsanne would be a stupid idea...

i stumbled across the meet in 2006 thought we would stop for 10 mins ended up staying for 3 hours watching the sights going by, shame if we cant do it this year, our local cruise meets in mcdonalds on a tuesday night dont want to go all the way to france to do that. if we cant park trackside on friday maybe we could log onto this thread off phone and see where everyone is?

I think we just need a first, second and third choice so if one is closed we just go for the second etc...

When the drag from Mulsanne to Arnage was open it was the best free sports car show on the planet.

It's not exactly big show for people driving past, but I know of a field between Arnage and Porsche Curves that we could use FOC....
