We're staying at the blue campsite which I understand has no facilities. So, we have the option of a trailer tent which has everything including the kitchen sink but will have to be towed by a new Passat estate.

The other car is a brabus, obviously without a tow bar, so would have the basics to live in, but would have a better ride there and back.

What's more important?

Take the Brabus.
You will only feel unhappy when you are sat in the Passat and everyone else is hooning about in their assorted exotica!

robp, Do you get the chance to hoon about once you're down there or do you mean the journey there and back?

The drive there and back is half the fun of Le Mans (and the hooning once you're there).... Brabus!

If everyone had your dilemna and opted for the Passat then what would the week-end be like???... You can just imagine sitting on the Mulsanne on Friday morning:-

" Did you see that Passat just drive by"
" Yeah, wouldn't mind one of those"
" Yeah, and with a tow bar as well... nice"

I've been at work for coming up to 14 hours and helping persuade you to take the Brabus is the first worthwhile thing I've accomplished today.... roll on Le Mans.

Always the sports car, support vehicles are for when you run out of passenger space and need to rent a mobile home / bus!

As everyone's said, Brabus !

As for facilities, there are portabogs .. and a short (ahem) walk across the road will see you in the Maison Blanche showers.

Ah, so there are facilities, (portloos) superb. I'm not that fussed about showers, I'll find somewhere. As long as one can have a good clearout one is okay!

ian d, a Brabus is a subtly modified Mercedes. The little beaut that we are (supposedly) taking is a V8 SLK pushing around 450bhp with a top end of about 190. I understand that the 0-60 is 4.7 secs which isn't bad for an auto. It also has a good sized boot for plenty of Nelson!

If you want basic facilities join the ACO and use their members area (in the village) which has toilets and showers. Admittedly, the membership is an expensive way to get a shower & sh1t, but you do also get discount on General Entance tickets, and breakdown recovery (of sorts!).

What you really need is a mate who's stoopid enough to drive the support van, or whatever... We're motoring down in a Hartge BMW 325i, Jaguar X-Type Sport, VW Corrado G60 and a Ford Probe 24V (LOL!) while one of our mates has agreed to drive the Transit with all our tents and cr4p in the back, so we can go faster...
