Hi folks,
Going to Le Mans in the old S3c (minus the C bits ha ha!) with minime (i.e my son Ben aged 13), as I thought it was about time I introduced him to the delights of the Greatest motor race in the World (minus some of the tents for obvious reasons!) Is any one else going with similar so that maybe we could meet up? At the moment I am in a convoy of one travelling overnight Portsmouth- Cherbourg on Thursday, returning Fastboat Monday.

...don't you get fined for taking your kids out of school these days ?

(at least that's the excuse I've been telling my brood )

I'll be taking my 12 year old lad for his second trip to Lemans. His first was the Classic last year which we both enjoyed. We are travelling Poole to Cherbourg on Thursday night and coming back Monday. We are camping Karting Nord so may see you there.

Just found out we're now camping in Beausejour, which is about a million miles from everywhere, so might not see you. Might catch you on the way down from Cherbourg though. See my profile for what I'll be driving. What time do you arrive in France? Have you got any stops planned? Can you recommend anywhere for breakfast, lunch. I've not been this way before as we normally go Pompey-Le Harvre.

I don't know the journey too well either, but we may well stop somewhere around Sees. It will only be a 'quickie', so that we can get to the circuit a s a p and have more time to get organised for the friday night. We will be in a dark grey s3, probably at the side of the road with the bonnet up! See you en-route!

I've got a five month old - and it's with mixed emotions that I accept I'll never be around for fathers day!

How old do you rekons the yoof has to be before he can come with and not compromise things too much ?

I'm thinking teens at least.

I'll let you know after the event! Mine will be thirteen, and he's seen me fall over a few times now, so he shouldn't be too shocked by the proceedings
On a serious note, I reckon they have to be old enough such that they're good fun to be with, without having to be entertained; so thirteen should be just about right
