I heard the 15/16th, but looked on the ACO website last night and saw nothing that really confirmed it - just more news about ALMS and ELMS...... Spin

Have asked one of the 'Great and the Good' about this, and he promises to come back with answers in the next fortnight (the delay sounds ominous). Will post a message when I get the requisite info.

tickets for the week about 48 quid
camping is about 30 quid a pitch
then the ferry crossing about 150-200 quid for a 5 day crossing

last year it cost 170 quid each for ferry camping, tickets, share in grandstand ticket for 2-3 people in a car 12 people in 5 cars...

Try www.ferryoffers.co.uk

or

www.hoverspeed.com

If you book early enough (say by mid Jan), you should get Dover-Calais on the Seacat for £90 ish for a car and 4 passengers.

Book campsites early as well as they tend to get fully booked quickly.

Anyone managed to get any tickets yet - the ACO have told me they aren't issuing theirs for a while yet.

After the rain of last year, there is no way I'm not gonna have some sort of Grandstand seat to shelter in.

Incidentally, ACO won't actually issue tickets until about 3 weeks prior to Le Mans.

You can book them now by dropping a fax to ACO. They'll probably fax back the 2001 booking form but fill it in and they will reserve the places for you.

Fax them on 00 33 243 41 91 98

or email

tickets@lemans.org

Hope this helps...

After 21 consecutive years going to the race, my 22nd next year will be in my new Chim 450. Got so bloody fed up off seeing and hearing all those V8's charging down the RN138, I had to join in!

Have been in Houx camping for the last two years, which seem to be like a huge TVR parking lot!

Look forward to seeing you all down there.

Rev-erend - I'm in East Sussex too. Does the club meet locally?

Yes - we normally meet at the 'Farmers'
in Scaynes Hill (near Haywards Heath)
on the Last Thursday of the month
but for Nov 29th it's a curry at Ganges in Nutley.

mags - 15 cars are going from East Sussex. We travel done on Thursday 13th June crossing Newhaven to Dieppe
and returning Calais to Dover.
We will be camped in 'Houx' with a large banner with East Sussex on it.
Better still pop down for the monthly meetings - see details below.
If you want a cheep crossing - phone
hoverspeed NOW and get an apex fare from
dover calais. There are only 15 per boat - so you need to be quick.
