Green Car Parking

The last couple of times I have been to Le Mans have been on organised trips.

We used the green car parks and pitched small tents on the Saturday with no problem.

Can we gain access to the car parks earlier in the week and what problems if any would we have in putting up tents.

Finally, (sorry new to all this) Whats the SP for Le Mans town on the Friday night?

In 2001 we got in on Thursday and pitched up with no problems. I think they're closed on the Friday so you can't get in or out.
We're going down Thursday (1 x Elise and 1 x A N Other) this year so with no camping tickets we're pitching in Green again.

Is green the car park between the ACO entrance near the ford chicane and the airfield? If so, Yes, I've turned up on the wednesday before and pitched up with no problems. The parking guys try and make you take up as little room as possible, but we always steadily spread out as day 1 progresses.
