I've just received my 'Le Mans Infos' broadsheet from the ACO as I'm a member and it categorically states that TVR will be entering the GT class (along with the usual Modenas, Porches, Spyker, Morgan and the new Panoz Esperante). No details of number of cars or drivers.

Yep, I confirmed this last week. Team to be run by the same guys that ran the Morgan entry last year, ie. Salisbury Motorsport. Hugh Chamberlain is managing the effort wih full factory support. 2 cars will be entered.

Drivers are as follows.

1.Richard Stanton
2.Steve Hyde.
3.Richard hay.

second car.

All drivers TBA. But Autosport quoted Salisbury Motorsport as saying that only graduates of the Tuscan challenge would be considered for a seat....

what that good old Brirish reliability ?

Who was it that said that the 24Hr Le-Mans was the most gruelling race on earth ??... Look at the development of Bently and MG.

Wasnt it Noel Edmunds who sponsored the Panoz Team on their first time? even a well known US team with money to throw at development etc didnt make it. I personally have spent too many hours in pubs debating over a TVR contender and even a TVR podium finish.

If TVR do make it (shorty had my bet) then good for them, but im not holding my breath.

Look forward to giving my surport to the British Teams is year...TVR!....MORGAN!....Does BENTLEY count?Me thinks its a Audi in drag.If they don,t make the full 24 hrs so what,at least they got of their butt and went for it....But as a Viper driver my other heart will be in the "Viper" camp.So i can cheer for the "Brits in GT,and Vipers in GT2,and well i guess BENTLEY in GT1.

I'll have a look, Hugh's garage is just up the road from me. Just hope they last longer than the Esprits' he ran a few years ago
Although both went out through no fault of their own (Ah, but they're supposed to do that sir)

/edit/
Bentley does count 'cos they played with the engine & nailed the Bentley badge to it, so now it's an official British entry

Does anyone know if MG is entering the LMP675 class again this year?
Could be a wicked year if so: TVR, Bentley, MG, Morgan(?)

A ray of hope for this year... TVR are finally on the list (after 38 years). I'll be there in May to support them, first weekend in May.

no works team, possible semi-works/RML outfit which i suppose would be driven by a remainder of the ex-works outfit... julian bailey/anthony reid/warren hughes perhaps???

more likely is an attack by the amerian team dyson racing, and if they do send one of their MG's and its crewed andy wallace/butch leitzinger/james weaver expect it to be VERY strong indeed!!!

i'm talking class win by miles, attacking the bentleys and audis possible overall podium if there's a high rate of attrition... dyson should even be able to make it last...

There will apparently be three Lola MG prototypes (Team Dyson and J.Field).
