I've received a wedding invitation that just so happens to be that weekend so cannot go now. I had booked two adult camping tickets on the Woodlands site so if anyone is looking for two, you can buy one and get one free.
Cheers 🍻

You have been docked points for not making the obvious joke suggesting it would be the wedding you missed biggrin

I won't be going camping, I'll still be there on Sunday, probably with a bit of a headache but making the most of the ACO hospitality offer 😉

Has anyone received any communication from Silverstone about their tickets yet?

All the FAQ stuff suggests they'll be available via the app 'weeks before' the event, i have nothing listed even as an 'upcoming event' yet. I only have booking refs so far....Silverstone were very quick to take my money, as you'd expect.

I have learned from previous experience to not do anything with the tickets until 24hrs before the event as if you are too keen they'll randomly regenerate all the QR codes or something.

Brother in law and I got out of going to a nephew's wedding because he had the Britcar 24 hour race at Silverstone to run and I had to help hehe

I'm going Saturday and Sunday, been looking forward to this for several months. They've pushed the Le Mans Cup race forward by an hour (compared to the original timetable posted months ago) so it won't finish as the sun is setting. A shame but fair enough. They've now posted an entertainment guide which suggests you can't spectate on the International part of the circuit.

I remember in 2021 when you could only go between Luffield to Copse, everything else was restricted by barriers and security. I really hope they don't do something similar, seeing GT cars at the end of the Hangar straight is an excellent viewing point.

That map reinforces why I won't be there, still hoping I might make it to Portimao though

I read the map as suggesting the infield around the 'wing' is closed off, but you can get around the outside (with closed grandstands, although that is P for the C) as they have marked the Gate from the campsites as being open, and also no 'no entry' signs on the outside.

Please don't tell these insufferable arses have stopped you being able to walk around the outside of the venue?

It shows what low esteem people hold Silverstone in that closing off half the track is considered a viable option.

(Surely they are not that daft, the only time I've seen a similar closure is overnight when the Britcar 24hrs was running, and then it wasn't really enforced).

Spare Sunday ticket.

If anyone wants to buy this, let me know please - we have had a family bereavement so I’m not able to go.

£20.

Thanks.

From the map it does sadly look like once you get to the apartments that is your lot and you cannot access the track near the Wing, that is pretty atrocious if that is the case.

I will email them and ask

Have received confirmation from SIlverstone that the blue line has caused some confusion, complete track access round the perimiter is permitted.
