My wife and I have accommodation about a 40 mins drive from the circuit and plan to go daily on Saturday and Sunday. Ideally we would like to park where we can either walk or get public transport to the circuit each day. An alternative is to park and then bike to the circuit. Any advice/info on where to park, tram lines/times (do they stop at night?)would be great.

Having done some research Im thinking that buying a parking pass for Mulsanne and then using that as a base would work. We can then use the shutttle to get about and be at Mulsanne for sunset etc before we head off for the night to our accommodation and then come back early(ish) Sunday morning. Would that work?

Where are you staying ? North South East or West
If you are choosing Mulsanne then I assume south
There’s free parking near the airport I’ve used that before.
Travelling from Le Lude via Arnage

Yes we are staying to the south, near La Chartre-sur-le-Loir. Many thanks for the reassurance and info.

If you're getting Mulsanne Parking, that includes Arnage parking. So all you need is Panorama Pakring and you can forget the shuttle hell and just drive between spots. Also gives you easy shelter if it rains and a place to leave a cool box with cold wine, and cheese, and butter, the red can settle under the car, don't forget the quiche and flans. I'm hungry.

Im now thinking how bad are the shuttles and would it be good to use bikes (we will have them with us at the gite) or are they more hassle than they are worth re security etc as you cant take them into the circuit?

We stay south of the circuit - just outside Mulsanne. We use Mulsanne/Arnage parking if we can get tickets, not always possible so we have just left a car on the side of the road and walked (max 5 mins) to Mulsanne. Shuttles are busy on race day - not at all bad in the days before. Last year there was free parking just near the D92/D139 roundabout between Arnage and Beausejour. We went straight in, no problem on the sunday morning.

Just buy an Expo (preferably) or Panorama parking ticket. They're not difficult to get hold of. They may sell out initially but there will be loads come up on the resale site.

Bikes are good way of getting round but can’t take them into circuit and can be somewhat precarious riding around in the dark.

Not sure that Mulsanne / Arnage is the same ticket - notwithstanding these are hard to come by so buy early

If you’re taking anyone else to the circuit there’s free parking for cars with 3+ passengers near the tram station at Terte Rouge
