I have just joined the ACO mainly to get advanced/discounted tickets for the 2025 24 Hour car race. Can anyone clarify what the situation is regarding the Club'area Practice and Race (to Member) payments. Do I have to pay the 59E for me to get this access to the reception areas etc and then pay again for another person or is this access part of my ACO membership and the 59E payable if I want to bring another person?
Cheers

Membership basically just gets you cheap tickets. You need to pay for access to the ACO members areas for you and your guest/s.

Next logical question...is the 59E worth it? Ive not been to LeMans since 1988/1989 and I'm just trying to get up to speed on whats best now. Cheers

It was my first time attending as an ACO member this year (9th year otherwise) and I thought the ACO areas were worth the money. You do have to pick your times to go there, although the policing of wristbands was a bit lax to say the least, so probably more people were in there than there should have been. I believe a lot of people have since complained to the ACO, so hopefully that will be sorted by next year. There was a nice goody bag too, with a rucksack, lanyard and programme, with the extra access. Phone charging was available too, which I used a couple of times.

In short yes. Member since 1997. Used to get this as part of the membership but I've paid for it each year since the pricing structure was changed.

Great info. It can all be rather overwhelming as a relative newbie so this advice is really appreciated. Thank you both.

I've got a question for mroe established members too.

I joined to get tickets for this year's race but as I was flying solo the whole "How many tickets can you buy?" thing wasn't a concern. Next year it's looking like half my Le Mans friends want to go too.

1. Is there a limit on the number of entry/grandstand/camping tickets a single member can buy?
2. Is there a way to tell the ACO 2 or 3 members are together? Especially with general entry and grandstand tickets being combined is there any way for 3 memebers to book 2 pairs each and still end up sat together? And on numbered pitch campsites for 3 memebers to buy a pitch each and get neighbouring pitches?

ACO

You can buy 4 tickets, 2 at discounted prices.

If you buy the 4 grandstand tickets at the same time, they should be together.

If you have multiple people buying on-line then you can't get them together, but it might be worth dropping the ACO an email to see what you can arrange. I've always found them very helpful.

Of course if you camp at somewhere like Hippodrome then there are no allocated pitches, so you can create your own village.

This year the members early access only gave you access to two tickets, at the discounted rate. Anything else had to be purchased when general sale opened.

I've used the members areas the last 2 years. This year was much more crowded than the year before it may have been due to the weather or just more tickets issued. Very long lines for food and drink up to an hour to get served especially on Sunday. A discount on food and drink prices is worth having compared to the village.

One thing to note is that the email notification on things like when tickets are going on sale in November does not like some company or corporate email addresses. I had a long discussion with their customer support people, and they stated Google, Yahoo etc. are known to be reliable as I was missing emails from them.

Probably- the areas are still overcrowded on race days and La Chappelle area toilets are now a long walk from entrance and still longish queues.

You do get a program - preferred canvas bags on previous 2 years to plastic rucksack.

You need to use them on Wednesday and Thursday- small discounts on beer and food and nice space- they’ve really cut back in screens at Chappelle though as the open seating area used to be very good for that

La Chappelle worked well with Goodyear grandstand but did leave it until 30- 40 mins before start to cross Dunlop bridge as that can be a nightmare when combined with the fan area just on outside of circuit there.

Didn’t venture down by main ACO area under T17/18 this year - toilets on ground floor there usually good

If combined with grandstands a fair way from both areas it could be a real hassle getting to and fro

That’s not how it worked for me. Though I tend to dive in and get my camping as soon as members sale starts to reduce the risk of the website crashing while I’m in there. I then go back in later on to get the entrance tickets and didn’t see any restrictions on the amount of tickets I could buy.

Ours is a group of 4. Two of us are members. My son's partner trusts me with her log in. I have the ticket site open on my pc in my membership and on my laptop in hers. I find the 4 GS tickets I want and buy two on my membership and the other two on hers. It's worked for the last 2 years although getting turfed out of the queue and having to wait another 20 minutes to get back in again last year didn't help!

I'm assuming you don't get the 4 GS seats together, but in two pairs in different parts of the GS?

I find it a right pain that you can’t buy a double membership which allows one log in and more allowance to book tickets together.

The dual log in and hoping to get more than two seats together is a total pain.

Especially as the available seats are disappearing rapidly whilst booking.

Yes we do. For the last two years I've identified the four seats that I wanted, put two in one basket and then the other two in the other basket and hey presto. Nice four seats end of row, although not quite as good as 2023. If you get in quick it really isn't as difficult as it sounds - and despite the fact that I got chucked out and spent 20 minutes trying to get back in again which meant that the seats I really wanted were long gone.

That's interesting, I don't recall getting to choose a seat. I'll have to remember to look harder next time.

I've chosen seats on each occasion I've bought direct from the ACO. Mind you, that's only 3 times, T17 in 2023 and 2024 and T34 in 2019.
