Generators unless they really are run quiet are very annoying to your neighbours on the campsites.

They are even more annoying when rather than keep the generator in your own pitch you place it at the end of the service road so that it’s half way between your camp and the people camping opposite.

If you want to have a generator put up with the noise yourself, don’t make it worse for your neighbours!

It's probably better if you tell them rather than us.

Generators? Luxury! I’m currently enduring a private concert with concert level speakers, on Tertre Rouge. I don’t know who the selfish pricks are or exactly where they are but I have industrial grade earplugs in as well as my peltor radio ear defenders and I can still hear it. It’s 1.30 am

Generator central here on Prairie. I counted 4 within 4 pitches. These are for normal single pitch motorhomes. Has no one heard of solar panels? I've been here for 8 days now and have plenty of silent power.

Loud music - yes, just selfish people who don't consider others.

Yep, we're on Houx and could hear the same. I think it was someone on Houx Annexe. Finally stopped at 0230.

Only camped years ago on a site off circuit.

Just can’t be arsed with sharing space with the inconsiderate types. Fear of thefts or people being stupid like that burnt out car scenario. Add in the faff of all the gear, either too hot or wet and the recipe adds up to being unenjoyable.

Camped at Belgium GP years ago. With the state of the field, pyrotechnics and sound systems it felt like being in some sort of techno war zone!!

Off site with proper bed and showers is our direction.

A couple of years ago at the Classic a massive camper had a generator going all weekend even when they were not there. It was annoying but not too bad. Oh how we laughed when he packed up and left without the generator. Pretty sure he didn’t mean to leave it behind.

The music eventually stopped just after 3 on Tertre Rouge. Just had a small group of campers arrive and set up a generator 2 pitches away from us. Which is nice. I might look into off site camping for next year or maybe one of the private sites.

Houx Annexe music was still going at 4.30 unless that started after 2.30!

They've been there for multiple years and are part of the furniture so to speak. It's not private, loads of people go to it & it's only on the Friday. I went to bed around 1 ISH whilst it was still on and didn't bother me at all. I'm guessing you're new to TR.

We were in Travel Destinations silver glamping. Expensive, for sure, but having ventured into Beauséjour on Saturday evening I discovered it was worth every single penny. Generators, full-on techno discos and drunk dutch and danes, I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

Woke up at 4am each night for a swamp and the singing/shouting in the distance was still as bad. The inside of Porsche Curves was utterly gopping, bins not just overflowing but a mountain of trash.

Our campsite was brilliant. No generators.

We were on TR last year and the music stopped around 1am. This year it was about 3.20 by the time it stopped. A number of TR regulars were unhappy when we spoke the next day. I’ve been camping on various sites around LM for 15 years and it’s the worst be experienced.

With the greatest respect to your right to hold an opinion, I disagree.
I go to Le Mans to watch motor racing and enjoy everything that goes with it.
Tertre Rouge is a gem of a spot due to its location and facilities. It’s also next to a motorway with truckers blasting their horns at all hours, it’s directly under the helicopters flight path and close to the track so during testing, quali and the race it’s bloody noisy.
One year on TR we were next to “Ze Flying Macheeeene” funfair ride which was pumping out Euro house & PA announcements all weekend.
It’s also home to a bunch of regulars including the campers you mentioned who have been camping in the same spot for years and who go to a massive effort to put on a bit of a show which I’ve enjoyed every time I’ve been lucky enough to stay on the site.
There will always be people who dislike noise, I’m not saying they’re wrong, but I bloody love it and sleep like a baby as long as I’ve heard land of hope and glory at midnight, every night.

I appreciate the fact that this weekend is sometimes the only opportunity for old friends to get together and let their hair down.
So if someone wants to have a few beers, make a bit of noise, set off a few fireworks or hold a mini rave with smoke machines I really don’t care, that’s one of the things I love about the weekend.

Generators really don’t bother me either, I go to Le Mans to hear engine noise, I’m not choosy where it comes from.
The suggestion that you pour sugar in someone’s fuel tank is disgraceful.

I can only echo the words above and suggest that if you have an Issue with a fellow camper, put your phone down & go and talk to them.
That’s what our friends on TR did this year when they ended up right next to the PA system.

We’re all human, we’re all there because we love Le Mans and I’m sure an amicable compromise can be reached.

By the way I did have a word and was told "Wasnt me that put it there" at the same time they asked me to move my car which happened, by mistake, to be parked with the wheel on their cable.

Strangely I didnt rush to move the car!

Its not the generator I object to its the selfish approach of placing it nowhere near their pitch. If it was on their pitch I would have no objection, but sticking it far away from their pitch is just plan selfish.

Happened to us last year. A grumpy 65 year old southerner whose tent was the closest remonstrated and the generator moved closer to their pitch.

It might have been the gleam in his eyes while holding a pair of scissors..

You could have just sneaked up and turned the fuel off like one of our Stealth like Team members did..

They soon got the hint and moved it biglaugh without any confrontation.
