Other than the Great British Welcome where can I find out about other motor related events around Le Mans during the week?

I remember going to a village motor show last year nearby and something on the track (mulsanne corner area springs to mind)

Any ideas? Is there a list somewhere?

There’s a car show in Arnage on Thursday, I believe.

Tomorrow (Monday) for a show at Monce-en-Bellin.

There's the unofficial car show at the Hotel de France on Friday => https://lhoteldefrance.fr/en/motoring-heritage/

What’s the set up with heading out to hotel de France please.

Never gone out there over the years.

Is the place mobbed?

Is there a certain time of day to go?

Can you actually get a drink / food or the place booked out?

Do you park elsewhere and walk to square?

Or quite a nice flow of people and relaxed?

It’s busy, the village is small.

The restaurant will be booked solid, we went last year, & even though booked in, was 2hrs and only got a starter. Gave up, left and didn’t pay.

Did see Warwick & Icyx.

It is always pleasantly busy, not over run with people like the CBW event. If one were a snob you'd say it was a higher calibre of LMer in attendence (we're probably the biggest scummers there by a long way). You will definitely see more panama hats than baseball caps biggrin (and deffo some pink trousers).

People just come and go, there's always plenty of people there mid-morning, over lunch to mid-afternoon.

Easy enough to get a beer, they use the same sort of plastic beer cup as the circuit so you can happily stroll round the square with it. You might get lucky and get a table outside, but don't expect to eat anything.

There's several other restaurants in the village. Or stop somewhere on the way home.

There's also a large supermarket on the road back to LM to pick up supplies for Friday evening etc.

There's a public car park, plus on-street parking in the area around the square, it you see a spot you take it, but it might take a couple of laps of the village to spot something....

Relaxed is probably the correct word, it is a nice alternative to the crowds, hustle and bustle at the circuit or in LM city centre.

D304 is a great road down to Hotel D’France

Can access from dual carriageway D323 east of Le Mans junction before Change & Super U

Cars up to 917 Gulf team including GT40s and Astons when they won must have come I. And out of Le Mans that way

Is pretty good most days down there

Yes, used to be in the morning before the ACO decided to have racing on, they have to wait for the track to open

Is the track now open in the afternoon? Thats quite the choice of a drive up and down the mulsanne vs an afternoon of fun in the town

Just done a little digging around online. Can’t see any reference to a 2024 event. You’d expect something public by now.

Missed CBW this year - hope it was good

We went into town for some lunch and parade

Quick drink in quiet bar and some great Dane’s- Dennis, Ryan, Michael and Martin from Kreuser ….

Brilliant day - didn’t see any parade or food in town and made it back for football……
