Weve ended up in Prairie for Le Mans this year as it was all that was available - any insight on this campsite or if its new?

Arriving Wedesday. Looks like a big site, and mostly made up of agricultural land, however a good location.

I've not camped on the inside of the circuit before how easy is it to leave after the race?
Can I expect to be stuck in a queue for two hours?
Will they open up access onto the Mulsanne straight, enabling people to exit to the east of the circuit?

Yes, to all of those questions....

Last year they were stopping people leaving some/all the sites for an hour after the race so as not to clog things up.

They open the 'Mulsanne' up fairly shortly after the race so you can exit via the roundabout by the tram station/KFC.

Otherwise it is just a big queue up past the football stadium to join the bypass at Tertre Rouge.

Or you can head down towards Karting/Beausejour which brings its own issues.

Logically they would close the road past the tram station, open the KFC roundabout, and direct all Hippodrome/Praire campers out that way, doing the same with the Beausejour, etc campsites out via the second D338 roundabout so traffic's spread out.

It's Le Mans, the ACO and the French though so expect everyone to be forced out via some single track road that has vehicles running both ways on it!

I saw on here I think that cars leaving Hippodrome were not stopped for an hour after the race, possibly as they went straight out to the roundabout by KFC on the Mulsanne. I guess it’s possible the same may apply to those on Prairie.

Indeed. No point worrying about it until 16:01 on Sunday afternoon, as it will all be down to who is on the gate at the time.

As always if you want to beat the crowds you need to make arrangements to be on the road just before the finish or move your car somewhere outside the campsite (eg. on the verge past Houx etc).
