Just in case you are traveling by ferry, I’ve just discovered some planned disruptions by French dock workers.

Luckily not affected as traveling 13th and 17th!

Worth checking if also using ferries.

We're supposed be coming back at 11:15 on the 18th.
Got a flex ticket so might try for an earlier ferry.

Just checked Irish Ferries for yesterday (29th May) and looks like they all sailed so going to need to check with them.

Thanks, my ferry is due in at Caen at 3pm on the 12th, I assume we will just be stuck out in the channel for an hour waiting for the strike to finish at 4pm

Sailing with Brittany to Caen on the night sailing of the 12th, hopefully the ferry companies can sail around this, but thanks for the tip off

It wouldn’t be Le Mans without talk of French industrial action

I got a text message yesterday about that sailing from Portsmouth on the 12th June saying the departure time is delayed due to "technical issues", but it is still scheduled to arrive at 06:45 to invade the Pegasus Bridge Cafe. (and then drive down to Le Mans....).

No idea how reliable this is, but just seen this on: https://www.connexionfrance.com/news/updated-strik...

French ports - June 2, 6, 10, 12, 14, 18, 20, 24, 26, 28
A strike will take place in all French ports on 10 separate days in June because of pension and labour issues.
Stoppages will last for a period of four hours between 10:00 and 16:00.
The strike, called by the Union of Transport and Logistics Companies of France, could delay ship operations and affect container removal operations and docking.
It is expected to have more of an effect on freight operations than ferry travel.

Hopefully the last sentence is as true as possible !!

That's lucky. We arrive in Ouistreham at 0700 on 7th and return on 18th.

Happy days.

Direct Ferries say they've not heard of any issues but will keep us updated.
I've also emailed Irish Ferries but I'm thinking it's more a freight issue.

They just sail above snails pace - you do lose 2 hours at the bar and disco

Had replies from both Direct Ferries and Irish Ferries to say they're not being affected by them...
"We have not been informed by any of the ports or managers that there is currently any expected issues with sailings due to to strike action. If there is any delays expected this would likely be updated on or website and online sailing updates."

Sailing times to st malo definitely affected today on a passenger/car service with the action.

Adjusted to arrive later in the day.

I suppose at least it isn’t an entire shutdown on the days affected.

I think there might be some weather issues too today as it's windy down here
