Bentley 100th Anniversary of 1st Le Mans Win
Discussion
Going by my estimation, this year (2024) is 100 years since Bentley gained the first of their six Le Mans victories. Ok, so Bentley aren’t competing in any category, but is anyone taking an opportunity to celebrate the anniversary, apart from me that is?
I’ve purchased a nice late Arnage T and will be trundling it down for the race this year
See you there

Thank you for the comments chaps.
The route down is always a bit of a debate but we’ll probably take the Auto route in order to get set up in good time
We’ve stickered up the last couple of years but the jury is out for this year. Although having said that the other car in our group of two has his stickers already, so you never know.

2003 was the first year we visited the race.
After watching the Bentley cross the finish line we went down to Arnage for a beer.
A group of mature gentleman the Bentley Arnage stopped in the middle of the road, rolled down the windows and played land of hope and glory at full volume with everybody in the bars either side joining in, and then proceeded to do a big burnout down the middle of the road with, if I remember correctly one of the old chaps pulling a moonie out of one of the back windows.
It was a while ago so my memory may be distorted by time, however it was at this point we realised that we had to come to this race again and again and again…

That looks lovely. Some of these seem very good value (running costs may even it out though!)I’ve purchased a nice late Arnage T and will be trundling it down for the race this year
