I noticed in my email spam folder the request for me to validate my green tickets for this year.

They obviously learned some lessons from last year and now ask for sight of the registration document and if the car is not yours, what your association is with the owner of the V5 (last year you could only post one image so I cobbled a large PDF together with all of the evidence I had: the V5, a copy of the leasing document and an explanation alongside which worked).

Part of the wording on the email was:

"Once you have indicated your means of transport for the longest leg of you journey, send us the proof within 10 days, (or from 15 March 2024 for train tickets)."

And they sent me a reminder to validate it.

Anyway - keep an eye out for it.

Have now had confirmation from ACO that the supporting materials I provided was accepted and my tickets are now valid.

Again, in spite of multiple attempts it went to my junk mailbox.

If you don't validate the ticket, I think it reverts to full price.

Only the French could go through such a convoluted process

Its a faff but not too bad.

They wouldn't accept a eurotunnel booking in my name with the car shown , it had to be a registration doc.

Done it twice now and I just used the same letter from the lease company that I sent to my local council and TfL - it shows the registration, VIN, make/model and confirms as 0% CO2.

No hassles here for the past two years.
