"New" campsite feedback
Discussion
So 2023 saw the ACO give over yet more of the traditional campsite areas to the corporates and dirty race fan plebs pushed into a series of new, random fields - and I'm guessing that's going to be the case/worse in 2024.
I'm guessing at least a few PHs managed to get tickets/ended up somewhere random, if you were one of them:
1. What site were you on?
2. Where was it?
3. What was it like?

I went to both the LM24 and LM24 Classic this year. I was in Beausejour for the 24 and Blue Sud for Classic. Out of the two it's hard to pick. BSJ was better equipped, with more toilets and water points, whilst Blu was significantly closer to the part of the track I wanted (Porshe Curves). On balance, Blue Sud was possibly just better, as I made sure to maximise the toilets at the circuit and reduce the need for the campsite ones.
I also went last year to the '22 LM24, but I day tripped to the circuit from a nearby hotel, and parked at Rouge Parking, which was good for getting straight into the hospitality areas (although the walk back up the hill to the car was taxing in the heat).

1. Hippodrome - one of the 'new' camping locaitons to accomadate displaced fans on the horse racing circuit
2. It is located to the south of the Epinettes camping location... which i think was the original campsite for displaced fans!
3. What was it like.... to copy the review BeerMountain style; "BETTER THAN I EXPECTED"
I panic bought two plots at Hippodrome after logging onto the ACO site on the morning tickets went on sale for members and found nothing left but this option. The descripiton listed that the camping plot and car parking would be seperate but it didn't explain where or how that worked. I did email the ACO during the build up to June but it wasn't really made much clearer how the site operated other than to say that parking was on site and there would be toilet and shower facilities.
Arriving on the Thursday afternoon, the site was easy to navigate to via the road network inside the circuit and security only checked the campsite tickets on entry. I mention this because i know some locaitons check what you have in the car (Beers, Gas bottles, etc.). We were instructed to park on the track and then camp on the exterior of the horse track. The interior of the horse circuit was a little busy but still plenty of room but would of choosen to setup nearer to the route into the circuit through Epinettes anyway.
Pros;
It was really quiet with plenty of space and having stayed at Karting Nord then Houx Annexe since we started going in 2008, it was a total contrast in comparison. The plots isn't marked out, so you have as much space as you want.
The site facilities felt incredibly quiet considering the race was 'sold out' with no queues at any time.
Other campers were a mix of Europeans and all friendly but with so much space, we didn't really interact with anyone else.
There was a fan zone in Epinettes with bar, food and large screen nearby this site.
Cons;
We didn't find the shower blocks on site! I think they were on site but we were much closer to Epinettes and therefore used the shower block there, (which again were clean and surprisingly no queue for a sold out race weekend!)
There is no atmosphere on Hippodrome - if you're happier having space and peace this site might be ideal
The plots aren't numbered, this might be an issue if you were trying to secure an area for many tents/people.
Our cars were parked 250yards from where we actually plotted up. This was a bit of a pain and required multiple trips to get all our gear but not the end of the world.

BSJ might be an old site, but they revamped it for the centenary, complete with new mini fanzone (read a few burger vans, a beer tent and an open sided 50 seat marquee with its own big screen) so if the distance isn't off putting, i'd say its a significant step up from BSJ of old.
I've done a number of wet 24hrs so unless the revamp included building it up by about 2m and fitting good ground drainage... kel176506 said:

I stayed on Hippodrome too. I was solo so appreciated the quietness of the place. The showers and toilets were OK, though I heard some people say that some showers were cold, but mine were always hot. A bit of a trek into the circuit from there, but good value. I'd stay there again, but would prefer something closer if it was available.2. My group was on Hippodrome as well. We found one shower block was cold and the other was warm. we stayed on Hippodrome this year after being bumped from Blue Nord, arrived late Thursday, had 3 x 40m pitches inside the horse track. Our part of the site was quite noisy due to a large Dutch contingent nearby (ish) and their DJ/ sound system but no worse than we’ve had in prev (25 +years) on HA, BSJ and BN sites, the toilets were clean and well maintained, we too didn’t find the showers, the fan zone in epinettes was handy . we’ll likely be at same site for 2024
