Next Year's LM24
Discussion
Personally I expect it to be nearly as busy. OK, we may not have as many 'pretty people' attending as for the centenary, but we should have a great field of Hypercars and, hopefully, another really good race which will see many return and may attract new people. There is also the hope that Rossi will be competing which will add to the attendance for sure. Ticketing for ACO members opened on 18th October last year (for entry and grandstands) so I assume it will be around the same time this year. Camping and parking ticket sales were delayed unti 29th November. Hopefully they will do all tickets together this time. Again, as I understand it, members will be offered tickets first, followed (in a new initiative) by ticketing for La Sarthe residents and then general ticketing for non-members. The big question will be whether the ACO will keep the same camping and parking arrangements for 2024. Personally I think they probably will. I know that 1st Tickets have already emailed clients inviting them to secure their ticket allocation, so it won't be long before the process starts all over again. I plan to be there for my 37th Le Mans.

Announcement from the ACO boss.
ACO members in November, Sarthois (locals?) next then latterly public sale. He’s thinking it will be sold out again.
Seems like he’s intent on ruining it.

They are always going to be hyping it up to get the sales in. It’s not the centenary this time so the demand just won’t be as high. It will be a bit up from people that missed out last year and the usual returnees from covid but I don’t see it really selling out. Like seems to be the tendency with concerts they hype things and sell the tickets in batches to make it seem like they are selling out. What they shouldn’t do is try and cram as many people as they did in on the centenary. It was too busy in places at times and there were really bad bottlenecks that you had to give up and turn back from. ACO members in November, Sarthois (locals?) next then latterly public sale. Given the number of cars there'll be in the top class, I can see it being very popular next year too.
Question is who will the ACO/FIA bend the rules for this year to contrive a win (while applying a gagging clause in entrants contracts to prevent them complaining openly about said rule bending)...?//j17 said:

Next year will be my 10th time of attending, but my first time as an ACO member (after the fiasco of getting tickets last year). How does it work buying tickets through them ? I assume you get an email with a link ? Also, would camping be available at the same time ? We normally get grandstand tickets (apart from last year ...), so are hoping to get them again unless the ACO viewing areas are any good ?
You should get an email with a link, or you can just go here
When it's live that will probably drop you into a queuing system.
I'd expect GE tickets, grandstands and camping all to be available at the same time. They weren't this year, but I think that was an exception to the normal state.

Thanks. After the absolute clusterfk of trying to book anything last year, I am really hoping this year will be a bit easier. When it's live that will probably drop you into a queuing system.

They ACO are pretty good at responding to queries and changes too. I had to change my order a bit for the 24 and it got sorted quickly and payment changes went without a hitch.
I'd make sure you know what you want up front as it sells out quickly. You might want to have a plan B, and even a plan C to hand, just in case your first choice has gone.
Access ACO site a few times in run up to ticket sales opening. Plus have phone number back-up ready as friend joined last year a few weeks before and there was a glitch getting member discount on the pair if GE plus GS tickets they were trying for.
ACO areas pretty rammed probably worth it fir extra toilets, small beer and food discounts etc if you are there for a full day Thursday as well. Probably too busy at start and end unless you are in a group with chairs from 10am or so on Saturday.
Grandstands good for enjoying everything else and rocking up 1 hour before start and for the last 2 or 3 hours of race for a guaranteed view. Plus cover from sun and rain - check where you go as some are exposed to sun most of time or have no roof.
Good also for groups as meet up point as can get very busy.
Probably wrong thread but for all the costs and time getting there if going first time then seeing as much track action on Thursday and walking round track and village then really helps getting the most from race days

Interesting snippet of news this morning from a French friend and long-time ACO member. No pre-reservation this year for those members. Some lucky members were automatically offered the same tickets, entry, GS and parking that they have every year. Apparently those in that fortunate position (not me!) have had an email from the ACO to say that pre-reservation is not going to take place any more. I suspect that last year quite a few members didn't take up their pre-reserved allocation which caused more hassle than it was worth....
Sounds more like more big blocks of GS seats goings to OEM's this year es[pecially those joining the party in 2024 and dealing with quite a few senior French members witrh pairs of seats here and their would be a pain so they've all been kicked out - but at least the had the first 100 years worth (give or take the odd strike/invasion/pandemic).

No, I don't see that. I don't think they've been kicked out, they just have to order tickets on the website in the way everyone has to. Members are still likely to get the tickets they want. The general public though, that's another matter....Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
