My first Classic and my first Parade Laps too. Loved the whole event despite a damp start to Saturday.

Here’s a link to my in-car footage. It’s a very dull watch unless you were there but it does feature a few cars from the 1st Tickets parking. The session was the 8am one on Saturday.

Anyone else have any footage? I’d love to see some which included my Elise!

I think you were slightly unlucky with the weather but it seemed a very sedate 2 laps compared to mine last year on the same session.....yes, ours was a fully dry circuit and we were almost at the back of our group with no one iahead of us as they'd naffed off down the road so we did a bit of catching up at about 145 mph down the Mulsanne and didnt see many other cars until half way around the 2nd lap - I bet it's given you enough adrenaline to have another go at some point & hopefully in a more spirited group!!

Yeah, I was lucky/unlucky to be very near the front and the pace car literally did 30mph pretty much until Mulsanne corner on lap 1.

A few people deliberately held back so at least there were a couple of openings. I could imagine some incidents if everyone had a completely free rein in the wet though!

I had a free run at the start/finish straight on both laps and found that my little 1.6 couldn’t reach much over 90 before I was braking for the corner. Perhaps as well I wasn’t further back holding people up hehe

I was out on Friday morning at 8:30. It was a lot busier than I was expecting, but still a great thing to do.

I think the videos show how different the parade laps can be...it takes someone slightly experienced to hold the group of cars back from the pace car at the start to allow a bit of room to "play", plus everyone to have a similar idea on which side to overtake & to not stuff their cars up the inside in to the bends/chicanes.

Was in the same session further back with my dad in his 964 Turbo S Flachbau. A lotus did manage to spin it no idea how as no one was going fast.

We were out in the same question and were running third on the road behind the pace car a Sagaris and a Cobra. The pace car driver varied the pace, sometimes cracking along quite nicely but then slowing everything down again, not sure we went much over 80 but still enjoyed it.

I'm in the silver Aston Martin V8 Vantage that appears from your left at around 28:11 !!

It was my first Classic and Parade Lap too. I was behind you on most of the run, so I have lots of footage of your red Lotus.

If you PM me, I'll send you the file with the footage on.

Awesome! Looks like you have PMs turned off at the moment? Could you send me one and I’ll reply?

Thanks!

Wow, I knew the track laps had become sedate, but that looks somewhat tiresome. Great experience to do the full lap, but I remember being overtaken quickly when I was doing 130mph on the Mulsanne. I have read up on accidents, so this seems the better way forward, but it was fun while it lasted.

That's more what I'd have expected although I'm always slightly bewildered that some of the slower cars are on the left hand side of the track. It takes a sensible/considerate approach from everyone to make it a good event & it was good to see a few early risers on Porsche Curves watching the cars lapping.
