I was told the ACO closed the old Thomas Cook site permanently, I cycled past there over the weekend and didn’t see any empty areas.
Was anyone staying near the site? It didn’t look closed to me.

I was curious about this too so went to have a look at about 0100hrs Sunday morning. It is operated by the ACO and is 'Glamping 24'. Each two person yurt will cost you 3,000.euros.

Massive shame as the Thomas Cook operated site was perfect.

Surprised the tent only site at Garage Vert was empty - think 1st tickets had a site in 2017. Loads of corporate parking up by arena and lots hospitality stuff on inside roads too.

We stayed at Tertre rouge, the campsite was ok, clean toilets but no entertainment in the bar which Thomas Cook did really well. It’s a bit of a trek to the village in 30 degrees with the circuit as busy as it was.
As TC it now a glamming site, I guess we will be looking for new home for next year.
I’m considering 1st tickets, I believe they do a great job?

We've been with 1st Tickets since 2013 (I think that says it all!). Brian & his team run a good site & we see lots of familiar faces when we go each year which shows they've good customer loyalty - the ACO have really put the operators under big pressure this year with their decision to turn certain campsites over to corporate use or car parking & this in turn caused massive oversubscription to the private camping areas.

I think "Each two person yurt will cost you 3,000.euros." Says it all.

They don't want us.

It only costs most of us approaching half of that per person and we're treated badly, as we're not "Corporate Hospitality" day trippers.

Wonderful opportunity for Spa, Nuremberg, Silverstone etc. Somebody must want our money

Indeed. All the Youtube influencer types seemed to be posting more pictures of Paris than Le Mans (and then nothing beyond the confines of the hospitality room or paddock).

We switched to 1st tickets this year after a company that were a total disaster let us down at the last minute and told us they wouldn't be running Tetre Rouge this year - 6 weeks before travel. We were offered being squeezed into Porsche curves with everyone else, 450-400 extra disappointed campers a long walk from anywhere. This was after they tried changing all our ferry crossings to different ports, times etc sometime after we'd fully paid.

We're regulars but we'd never been with them before, but thelarger company were buying up all the small operators we'd used before, and were the only ones running Tetra Rouge. (Speed Chills used to have an amazing tiny setup at Blue Sud)

Brian and 1st Tickets were amazing, Got us into Blue, and the price is only pounds more than total disasters and includes the meal package and twice the size pitches. Very happy. Would use them again just based on how helpful and professional Briam and his staff were.

Looking forward to the weekend.
